What should I wear to the wedding?

You can check out our look book here by clicking the link below!

Do I need a passport to travel to St. Thomas?

No, you do not need a passport to visit St. Thomas since it is part of the US Virgin Islands. It is still recommended to bring one if you plan to visit any of the nearby British Virgin Islands or if you want to speed up the airport process when departing St. Thomas.

When is the best time to book flights to St. Thomas?

For the best prices, most travel sites recommend booking flights 2 to 4 months before your trip. Prices to the Caribbean tend to be lowest when purchased during this window, especially if you can be flexible with travel times and airlines. Keep an eye on flights starting a few months out and set price alerts so you can grab a good deal when prices drop!

What airport should I fly into?

All flights into St. Thomas arrive at Cyril E. King Airport (STT), which is on the south side of the island about 15 to 25 minutes from most major resort areas.

When should I arrive and leave for the wedding weekend?

We recommend arriving in St. Thomas by Thursday so you have time to settle in and enjoy the island before the wedding on Friday. You’re welcome to head home on Saturday if you want to keep the trip shorter or save on an extra night, but many guests may choose to stay through Sunday to explore a little more or enjoy a relaxed day after the celebration.

Is there anything I should look for when booking an Airbnb or VRBO in St. Thomas?

Yes. Make sure your accommodations have a generator. The island can lose electricity at times, and having a generator ensures you have power for essentials like AC, lights, and WiFi. It’s an important backup to keep your stay comfortable.

What should I know about getting around St. Thomas?

Taxis in St. Thomas require cash and charge per person, and they do not use meters. They also do not like to travel up the mountain to pick up or drop off riders, so if your accommodations are higher up, plan on renting a car. This is usually the most convenient and cost effective option. There is also an open air safari taxi that circles the island throughout the day and is much cheaper, but pick up and drop off times and locations can vary. Traveling with a group will help reduce standard taxi costs as well.

Should I rent a car, and where should I rent from?

Renting a car can be the most convenient way to get around St. Thomas, especially if you want to explore beaches, Red Hook, or areas higher up in the hills. While major rental companies at the airport are reliable, they are often overbooked, especially during busy travel times. Many guests have had good experiences renting from smaller, local rental companies around the island. These companies often have more availability, flexible pick-up options, and sometimes better rates. Just make sure to book early and confirm pick-up and drop-off locations in advance. Even if you don’t rent, taxis and safari taxis are available, but renting a car gives you the most freedom and can save money if you plan to explore a lot.

What should I know about driving in St. Thomas?

In St. Thomas, people drive on the left side of the road, which is the opposite of the mainland U.S. Roads can be narrow, winding, and steep, especially in hilly areas. Take your time, drive cautiously, and be prepared for sharp turns and limited parking in popular spots. Renting a car gives you flexibility to explore, but only if you feel comfortable driving under these conditions.

Will there be transportation to the wedding?

Yes! We will be providing transportation to and from the wedding venue. The designated pick-up and drop-off location will be shared closer to the date once we know where most guests are staying. Just hop on and enjoy the ride!

How do I get from the airport to my accommodation?

There are plenty of taxis waiting outside the airport. They charge per person and rates are fixed by zone. Cash is required. If you’re renting a car, all major car rental companies are onsite or across the street from the airport. Pre-booking is strongly recommended.

What is the weather like in June?

Expect warm temperatures in the mid 80s with humidity. There may be brief tropical showers, but they usually pass quickly. Sun protection is essential.

What should I do in my free time on the island?

St. Thomas has beautiful beaches, snorkeling, sailing trips, shopping in Charlotte Amalie, and easy day trips to St. John.

Can I visit other islands during the trip?

Yes. St. John is easy to reach by ferry and does not require a passport. The British Virgin Islands are also close, but you will need a passport to visit them.

What currency is used in St. Thomas?

St. Thomas uses the US Dollar, and most places accept credit cards. That said, taxis and some small vendors only take cash.

How early should I arrive at the St. Thomas airport when returning to the States?

Most websites recommend arriving at least 3 hours before your flight. This allows extra time for check-in, security, and potentially long customs and immigration lines when leaving St. Thomas.
