If you've spent enough time around Carlos and Gabrielle, it's no surprise that they met through their shared interest in hockey. They both had been going to San Jose Sharks games long before they met-- and once Gabrielle moved to San Jose for college, it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed.

And they did! Carlos and Gabrielle had many mutual friends and saw each other many times at games before they started talking. They even stood next to each other in group pictures!

Well--that's her side of the story, anyway. While she was finding her place in the San Jose hockey fandom, he had been fascinated by her the entire time.

The two finally spent a few minutes together during intermission at a Sharks game in January 2020. It didn't take long for Gabrielle to realize that she was falling for him, too, and once they started talking... well, you know the rest!
