HOW IT STARTED: Carlos and I met on the debate team at Texas State University. After graduating, we took a whirlwind trip to Paris — the beginning of a relationship filled with laughter, adventures, great music, and even better food.

OUR LITTLE FAMILY: Our second year together, we adopted our perfect (Carlos says “rotten”) little boy, Hitch. This photo was taken on his first hike up Mount Bonnell in Austin.

A LIFETIME OF ADVENTURES: Barcelona was one of our favorite vacations together. Between late-night tapas, wandering the city streets, and a little too much wine at the Montserrat Winery, we realized how much we love exploring the world side by side.

THE PROPOSAL: We got engaged! Carlos proposed on the Brooklyn Bridge, and Lily was completely, 100% bamboozled.

FAMILY FIRST: In Thailand, Carlos met Lily’s family for the first time — a trip that brought together our Thai and Mexican roots and united two anti-spicy people in very picante families.

CHASING OUR DREAMS: From California to New York, we’ve cheered each other on through every late night, big move, and new beginning — always side by side, always pushing each other toward what’s next.

OUR NEXT CHAPTER: We moved back home to San Antonio to start the next phase of our life together surrounded by family, friends, and a shared love of delicious Mexican food.
