Things to Do

Golf, Tennis, and More

The Coachella Valley is well known as one of the premier golf communities in the world! If you're a golfer, we highly recommend making the time to enjoy one of the many beautiful courses in La Quinta, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, or Rancho Mirage. The La Quinta Resort will have one course available to resort guests and the public, and tee times can be set up through the resort's website under the "Golf" page.

Voted one of the top tennis resorts in the world, the La Quinta Resort has tennis and pickleball courts available for both those who have have played for forever, and those who picked up the latter in the last couple of years, like ourselves. Courts can be reserved and equipment can be rented by calling the tennis shop (more details on the "Health and Fitness" page of the resort's website).

Eats

La Quinta Resort offers several dining options onsite that we recommend visiting. In La Quinta, we recommend grabbing coffee, breakfast, or lunch at Yes Please. We also recommend Stuft for lunch or dinner, and La Quinta Brewing Co. for beer and drinks. In Palm Desert, head to Mitch's for some sushi and seafood, and Sottovoce Cafe for coffee, pastries, wine, and light lunch bites.

Shopping and Other Activities

Right around the corner from La Quinta Resort, Old Town La Quinta offers a charming town square with local boutiques and restaurants. In Palm Desert (Michael's hometown), take a stroll up and down El Paseo - here, you'll find tons of shopping (luxury, local, vintage) and dining options, as well as various art galleries and showrooms. and spa/beauty services.

Palm Springs has tons going on. Ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which offers some amazing views of the Coachella Valley, which travels 2.5 miles up to its peak at 8,516 feet. For anyone interested in aviation, one of Michael and his family's favorite activities is visiting the Palm Springs Air Museum. For design lovers, taking a midcentury modern architecture tour should be on your list.
