Connemara National Park Information Centre

Connemara National Park covers some 2,000 hectares of scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands in County Galway. Some of the National Park’s mountains, namely Benbaun, Bencullagh, Benbrack and Muckanaght, are part of the famous Twelve Bens or Beanna Beola range.

Opened to the public in 1980, the National Park includes lands that once formed part of the Kylemore Abbey Estate, the Letterfrack Industrial School, and the private property of Richard ‘Humanity Dick’ Martin, who helped to form the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Ross Errilly Friary

A medieval Franciscan friary located about a mile to the northwest of Headford, County Galway, Ireland. It is a National Monument of Ireland and among the best-preserved medieval monastic sites in the country.

A local Angling operator is Corrib Anglers who are based just 7 miles from Lisdonagh. Their guides are Failte Ireland approved and have a long history of fishing the Corrib system. Their expertise and knowledge will enhance every opportunity to land the finest wild brown trout. Corrib Anglers can collect you from Lisdonagh Estate and they provide the boat, engines and rod hire.

Lake Cruising

The Luskin Family operate from Ashford Castle and offer afternoon cruises each day.

Cycling

Bicycles are available onsite for estate use. Alternatively, hire companies can provide full kit for cycling in Connemara or the Western Greenway.
