Thank you for making the trip to Celo for us! We chose this weekend so that folks can really enjoy this special place and make the trip truly worth it. Come for as much as you can, stay as long as you'd like!
Celo Inn
The Celo Inn is the quaint, historic, and very special inn belonging to the Celo Community, about 10 minutes from the Mount Mitchell Eco Retreat. It is situated right next to the South Toe River and offers easy walking access to the Celo Community. Their garden will be in full bloom during the weekend.
The Celo Inn is very small, with only 5 rooms, and able to house 10 total guests. We have blocked off these rooms for July 3rd-7th, but you only need to reserve a room for the nights you want to stay. Please contact Nick via email/phone and ask to book a room for Caroline and Alex's wedding.
Airbnbs!
There are many delightful airbnbs in Celo. Here are a few that we've identified that look nice and are in close proximity to the wedding activities! Many of the ones on the golf course (Owl's Nest, Eagle's Roost, Hummingbird, Creek Song, Black Bear, etc.) we have visited ourselves and are managed by Debbie of Albert's Lodge.
Albert's Lodge at Mt. Mitchell
Albert's Lodge is 6 minutes (we timed it!) from Mount Mitchell Eco Retreat and has 9 rustic rooms available, as well as, many lovely houses to rent within a mile of the main lodge and check in office. Albert's Lodge and other properties are located on the edge of the Mount Mitchell Golf Course for all our golf enthusiasts out there! Mt Mitchell Golf Club
Mount Mitchell Golf Club has many properties available to rent within 5-10 minutes of the Eco Retreat. Check out their offerings here.
Eco Retreat Camping!
There are camping options available on the Mt Mitchell Eco Retreat property for $20-$30 per tent/night. You would be in charge of supplying your own gear but don't worry we'd let you take showers and use closet space in our room :) Camping areas are car accessible. If you're interested in this, please reach out to Alex and Caroline so we can notify the Eco Retreat! They will need a general camping head count.
NuWray Hotel
The historic NuWray Inn in Burnsville (about 25 minutes from Celo) is currently being restored, but the owners have opened 4 rooms in the Carriage House (whih also houses a cafe and wine bar) located behind it. Each room can sleep 4 and are pet-friendly. This is a great option if you'd like to be in close proximity to all Burnsville has to offer -- coffee shops, BBQ, a great brewery, a grocery store, antique shops and boutiques -- and you don't mind a slightly longer drive to Celo.
