In the summer of 2020, James underwent a significant surgery to remove a tumor in his abdomen. In the process, he received somewhere between 4 and 7 units of blood. Because of the selflessness and generosity of blood donors, James is here with us today!

James isn't able to donate blood, but Caroline made him a promise that she would donate enough to repay what he had received, and then some. As of the end of 2023, she has donated a gallon (8 units) in his honor.
