Shaun and Caroline met on the very first day of sophomore year of high school - August 7, 2013. Caroline had just transferred from Lecanto to Crystal River knowing very few people, but had a gut feeling that this was a good change she had to make and convinced her parents to let her make the switch.


She walked into Spanish class on that first day feeling very excited about opportunities to make new friends and have a fresh start. A few moments after she had taken her seat, in walked a freckled Bieber haircut cutie she made immediate eye contact with. He was being led by a friend who very conveniently picked a seat close to Caroline. First-day classroom icebreakers started, which included talk of favorite sports teams. Shaun shared that he was a Miami fan and Carolines sister went to the University of Miami at the time, so they instantly made a connection on that.


A few days went by of casual conversation and walking to and from classes, and they exchanged phone numbers. Let it be known, Caroline was the first to offer hers up. And after a whole 9 days of talking, they had their first date on August 16, 2013. This also ended up being the date they became girlfriend and boyfriend because Shaun showed up on the night of their first date wearing a t-shirt that asked Caroline to be his girlfriend before she even had a chance to go on the date - but of course, she wouldn’t have had it any other way and didn’t hesitate to say yes to Shaun.


Their first date was to a movie, which now happens to be one of their very favorite pastimes. They spent pretty much the whole movie talking and it was seemingly instant love.


After high school, they went on to Florida State University together where they both graduated from in 2020 and continued to build their relationship. Through trials and tribulations they seemed to only grow stronger and after a year of long distance while Caroline was working and getting her masters degree in Tallahassee, they decided to move in together in June of 2022.


It didn’t take too long for Shaun to realize he wanted to make this love permanent with Caroline and he asked her to be his future wife on Honeymoon Island with a beautiful beach proposal and both families present on March 3, 2023. Probably one of the first and only surprises Shaun has successfully been able to pull on Caroline.


Now residing, working, and engaged in Palm Harbor, Shaun and Caroline are happier than ever. They have two fur babies (cats) named Julius and Midnight whom they love dearly. They enjoy going to the movie theater across the street, cooking their favorite meals together, going to the beach, visiting their favorite breweries in town, and going to Disney World where they are annual passholders.


On November 24, 2024 they will say I do by the lake at Bella Cosa in Lake Wales, FL.
