While on a trip to Maine, Caroline and Blake planned on spending several days camping in Acadia National Park. Blake was ecstatic to find a small island off the coast called Isle au Haut. The two booked a campsite and caught the mail ferry to a rustic and private spot to enjoy the island and explore its landscape.

On their first day, Caroline and Blake decided to hike out toward the western ear. This hike was marked by small paint spots on rocks, lobster buoys, and trees which led them through a moss covered spruce forest and over volcanic rock formations. At one point, the two stopped to enjoy the view of the Gulf of Maine, where Caroline swore she saw a whale! Dismissing the exposed rock, Blake knew this was his chance. Seconds later, two eagles flew by and Blake was down on one knee asking Caroline to spend the rest of her life with him.
