As many of you know, this past year has been a rollercoaster. Christopher an I are so ready to begin our lives after the craziness this world has hurled at us. Most of you have seen on our previous wedding page from last year, that we met in 2020 bow fishing with friends and the beautiful proposal, the new jobs, and all the happiness and butterflies etc.

However, life threw us a curveball worse than Nester Cortez last August of 2022. Christopher was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML), and we spent an entire month in the hospital; Soon after his diagnosis we learned that he would need a bone marrow transplant, and began chemo once a month in Nashville, TN. We paused our lives completely in order to keep up with all the doctors appointments, symptoms, and preparation for the transplant, etc.

We decided to get married on August 22nd, 2022 and we said our vows on floor 10T3 of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. We both then agreed we wanted to continue with a formal wedding, so we decided to try this whole wedding planning thing once more.

They found a possible bone marrow donor December of 2022 and the "unforeseen hand" lifted us up once more. We packed up, moved to Nashville for 4 months and Christopher received his successful bone marrow transplant. It was very successful, and we could not be more grateful.

As a newlywed couple, we will continue to face the craziness of life together, with an open mind and heart.
