Fall of 2008 in Columbia, South Carolina - Caroline & Nick met on the University of South Carolina campus. The two were fast friends bonding over Greek life, USC football and late night Sonic runs.

Over the next decade they stayed good friends and would reconnect over wine in New York when both were in town. October, 2020 Nick rented a house in Asheville, NC and invited a group of college friends to work remotely together for a few weeks. It had been almost five years since they had seen each other! After 13 years of friendship they started dating May 15, 2021.

March 18, 2023 Nick proposed on the 18th green at Pebble Beach! The caddie hid the ring in the pin after everyone finished the round and had Caroline start a “putt putt competition” on the green. When the ball went in, she went to pick it up and the ring box was inside the cup! Caroline turned around and Nick was on one knee.
