Carrie and Josh met as most modern day couples do: Bumble.

She swiped right, he swiped right, she forgot she swiped right, and he extended for an extra 48 hours because she was too cute to let go. Carrie sent a messaging asking, "how are you on this tuesday evening" and he replied that he had just had food thrown at him while busking in the Montreal metro. And so a true love was born.

On Valentine's Day 4 months after they met, they exchanged "I love yous" and on Josh's birthday in April, Carrie decided to stay in Montreal past graduation, since this relationship seemed like the real deal.

Making it through living in a studio apartment during the first 6 months of the pandemic solidified that this was, in fact, the real deal.

In the years that followed, Josh shared his music and love of basketball, Carrie shared her baking, crafts, and pop music. The bonded through sharing what they love with one another, and also as most modern couples do: watching pretty much every show out there. Some favorites include Father Brown, Taskmaster, The Office (of course), and to Josh's surprise, RuPaul's Drag Race.

In June of 2022, Carrie did what she does best: baked some cookies. But not just any cookies - these ones spelled out "Will you marry me?"

It was the easiest decision Josh has ever made.
