Starting Our Next Chapter

When we started thinking about what we wanted for our wedding, a few things kept coming up:

A beautiful place

Important People

And quality time. As much as we could get.

The best case scenario was basically a big vacation with our families and our best friends, all of whom have helped us write our story together so far.

So that's what we're going to do, and we can't wait to see you there.

Volcanoes Before Vows

Tuesday, May 7, 2024
8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Attire: Adventurous
When we met in Akron, OH, sparks flew immediately, so it's only fitting that we kick off our wedding week by catching some crazy calderas. Carson and Johno will be heading to explore Volcanoes National Park, as well as the southern part of the Kona Coast. Anyone who has already arrived is welcome to join for all or part of the adventure.

8:30 AM–10:30 AM

8:30 AM–10:30 AM

Drive from Waikoloa to Volcanoes National Park

We will hop in cars at the hotel and caravan down to Volcanoes National Park. The drive is relatively straightforward. Our recommendation would be to stay on the road.

10:30 AM–3:00 PM

10:30 AM–3:00 PM

Explore Volcanoes National Park

Once we arrive at Volcanoes National Park, we will spend a half day adventuring, visiting some LAVAL tubes, and trying our best not to sample the forbidden queso. The hike we'll be doing is called the Kilauea Iki Trail from Devastation Trailhead. You can find it by using www.google.com, a platform for finding things on the internet. Costs for this are $30 per car, and can be paid upon arrival. No need to make a reservation. We would recommend bringing snacks, water, and sunscreen. Wear appropriate Lava Proof footwear.

5:30 PM–7:00 PM

5:30 PM–7:00 PM

Mauna Kea Summit

Johno and Carson really want to see the summit of Mauna Kea. In order to drive to the top, a 4x4 vehicle is required. If you would like to participate in this activity, you will need to either rent a capable vehicle, or coordinate ahead of time with someone else who is.

Welcome Open House

Wednesday, May 8, 2024
1:00 PM–4:00 PM
Carson and Johno will be hanging down on Waikaloa Beach. Once you've checked in and settled down, come join them for boat drinks and light bites.

The Marriott Luau

Wednesday, May 8, 2024
5:00 PM–8:00 PM
Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
69-275 Waikoloa Beach Dr, Waikoloa, HI, 96738
No trip to Hawaii would be authentic or complete without participation in a Luau, and apparently the Marriott puts on an excellent one. The event is $175 per person, but includes a high quality buffet and an open bar. If you want to come with us you can reserve your tickets here. Just general seating is good, and we'll meet up ahead of time so we can sit together. HERE IS THE LUAU LINK https://thesunsetluau.com/

Rehearsal Dinner

Fosters Kitchen
69-250 Waikōloa Beach Dr STE C01, Waikoloa Village, HI 96738

This will be an elevated beachy casual affair featuring local fare, warm conversation, and likely an opportunity to roast the couple. Afterward, we'll all walk back over to the beach together and toast the sunset
