Newport, Rhode Island is a true gem and one of our favorite destinations. From unique shops and delicious restaurants to the beaches, picturesque coastlines, lighthouses, and beautiful mansions, there is something to enjoy for everyone. Here are a few of our recommendations!
Newport is famous for its historic mansions and you can visit them through booking tickets online or on sites such as Trip Advisor. Some of the most famous mansions are The Breakers, The Elms, Marble House, and Chateau-sur-Mer. A few of the mansions are also bordered by the popular Cliff Walk, a 3.5-mile path along the coast where you can hike to get fantastic views of Narragansett Bay.
Bowen’s Wharf: Great place to walk around — has restaurants, bars, and nice boutique shops as well as a view of the harbor.
Thames Street: Wander down this street and check out all the various shops, pop into a bar, or grab a bite to eat!
Enjoy a drink on the lawn at Castle Hill Inn
Go sailing — Some popular places to go through are Sightsailing of Newport or Sail Newport
The Cliff Walk: Newport's 3.5-mile Cliff Walk is perfect for panoramic ocean views with sea breeze on one side and mansions on the other

Fort Adams State Park offers panoramic views of both Newport Harbor and the East Passage of Narragansett Bay. Before being deeded to the State of Rhode Island in 1965, Fort Adams had served the U.S. Navy for ten years and the U.S. Army for more than a century. They offer both guided and self-guided tours.
