Casey and Phillips's love story began in a setting that doesn't exactly scream romance. Normally in a hospital operating room, the complete focus is on each patient and his or her needs.

But eventually, after two years as co-workers and friends, Casey and Phillip decided to take their relationship to the next level.

Casey is a nurse and Phillip an anesthesia tech (formerly support tech). After those two years of noticing each other's medical talents, they discovered the incredible attributes of the people beneath the scrubs. It turns out that these two nerds have a lot in common.

Their first date was two years ago at a Mexican restaurant, followed by a little shopping in one of Casey's favorite places - a bookstore - and an hours-long conversation. Casey and Phillip both enjoy hiking and game nights. Quiet evenings together feature Casey with her favorite book and Phillip with a video game. Their relationship has been quite educational in that Casey has learned new versions of Hand and Foot and Phillip is now a cribbage player.

The serious roadblock to their future happiness lies in the fact that Casey is a Minnesota sports fan and Phillip a die-hard Atlanta fan. They're aware of these nearly insurmountable issues, but firm believers that love indeed conquers all.
