For a woman and a man to come together, the recipe for love requires all the ingredients, and this story is no different. It required a pinch of Hinge technology, a dash of witty conversation, a dusting of family life, a sprinkle of Jesus, and a WHOLE lot of patience to make the relationship that is Casey and Chris.

Now that the ingredients are out there, lets tell you a little more about how they came to be. Both busy bees traveling for work, Casey playing sports, Chris being a dad to the best son on earth (Dax), they had not had much success finding someone. As fate would have it, they connected through the magic of online dating. Chris started the conversation with two questions that included "What was one thing that made you laugh this week?" and more importantly "Who's fault was it, Rachel or Ross?" (a reference to a shared "Friends" obsession). Casey proceeded to answer with a dad joke and the correct answer (they both were) and from that moment on, conversations were happening daily on the app. However, Chris lives at his own pace, and it took him 2 weeks to ask Casey for her number, and almost 2 months to ask her out. Again, in Chris world, 2 hours' notice for a first date seemed like enough time.... fyi, it wasn't and Casey couldn't make it. Well, Chris was determined and so he asked her out the next day with 4 hours' notice this time (can't you tell he knew what he was doing). Casey said she couldn't make it again (something about a social life). Then Chris thought, I like catfish but not in the dating world. So, he decided on a whim to Facetime Casey (they still hadn't met yet, so, yea, she loved that). But, three hours later, they had gotten to know each other more, realized they were in fact real people, and made plans for an actual date!

That date was on 5.4.22, and obviously, it went well! Chris and Casey liked each other and continued to see each other exclusively even with the challenge of living an hour apart. Fast forward to February of 2023, Dax and Casey met and quickly became best buds. Shortly after, they started meeting each other's families over crawfish, as it seemed to be the best way to bring everyone together.

During a crawfish boil with Casey's family, Chris had an epiphany... He didn't want Casey to be his girlfriend anymore! He asked Casey's mom if asking her to marry him was approved, and she actually said, "Let me think about it" and then let Chris off the hook and with happy tears said "Yes!". The planning was ready to begin, and Chris elaborately coordinated the proposal during Casey's Easter family reunion in Tallahassee. It involved boiling crawfish (seemed like a pattern). Right before dinner, Chris offered to say the prayer (one to the family out loud about how thankful he was to have everyone there, and silently a second prayer to help him verbalize the English language in the next 30 seconds). After that prayer, he got down on one knee and asked Casey to spend the rest of her life with him as his wife. She said "y...yyy...yy... (tears)....yes!". Now, they are looking forward to celebrating their special day with their family and friends as well as spending their lives together!
