Cass and Astra first met in February 2018 while working at Jimmy John's in Valdosta, GA. Astra was the "Person In Charge" during some of Cass's shifts, so she very quickly got used to bossing him around. Luckily, Cass was (and still is) a very good listener. Astra's friend and roommate, Nathalie, tried every chance she had to get the two of them together. Eventually, they gave in and hung out outside of work. They have been inseparable since.

In 2022, Cass was ready to move back to Colorado after 18 years of being away from his family. Astra, having graduated from college without any set plans, agreed to go with him. Their journey started in Florida after Astra's annual family beach trip. They left Kissimmee, FL Friday, June 10th 2022 and arrived in Grand Junction, CO Sunday, June 12th 2022.

Cass's parents, Brian and Michelle, graciously allowed the couple to live with them until they were able to find a place of their own. After 8 months of Zillow searches, they finally found the one, and closed February 9th 2023! It was (and still is) a fixer upper, but exactly what they were looking for. They had to get to work immediately as Astra's parents were coming to visit that May for her birthday. With the help of Cass's family, working every night after work, and every weekend, the house was ready to move into just in time.

The date for their wedding has a special meaning to the both of them. 524 was the address of the house they first lived together in. It was the place where friends gathered almost every weekend and tons of memories were made. From sitting out back by the fire, on top of the roof tanning, or hosting the Brookdale games in the front yard, it was the place to be.
