We are about 1.5 hours from both Oakland and San Francisco airports. Oakland is smaller, faster, and a few minutes closer, but has fewer direct flights.

We recommend renting a car to drive to Point Reyes Station area. There is plenty of parking at the Lodge and not much public transit in West Marin. Ubers and Lyfts are not available here due to the small population and spotty cell service.

Car break-ins, especially of rental cars, are very common in SF and Oakland. Do not leave ANYTHING visible in your car when in these cities. No concerns out here in West Marin, but please be overly cautious there.

Still excellent cities to visit, we go to them all the time, and not unsafe - just don't leave stuff in the car.
