Our Story

Jimi's Version

Our story started on New Year’s Eve welcoming the year 2017. We both were in need of a last-minute date to the festivities, so we decided to go together. Although we did share a first kiss of the new year, the night and following day didn’t turn out great. Like at all! For years we were merely friends of friends, or as some would say, “Frenemies.” We tolerated each other and would hang out when we found ourselves in the same place at the same time, but never just the two of us. That all changed when Circumstances (COVID) brought Cassie back to California from Colorado. We decided to make nice and became true friends again. After many late-night conversations and sunset runs, we grew closer and closer. Cassie Decided to move to Seattle to pursue her career as a flight attendant and I was extremely proud of her for doing that but didn’t like the fact that she was so far away. We started dating when she would come back to visit California to go to Disneyland together or do something fun. The love just grew stronger and stronger until I realized that I had found the one and asked her to marry me… Appropriately at Disneyland. She said yes and made me the happiest man on the planet. We’re still building our life together and can’t wait to make it official in front of God, family, and friends on April 18, 2025!

The first time we met was around July of 2016. By new years eve, we both didn’t have any plans, so we decided last minute to celebrate as each others date. The evening went well …until it didn’t. We tried to make the next day a bit better, but drama continued to follow, and this was not the way I wanted to start the new year off. So after that, we did our best to steer away from each other; I stopped being a fan and he knew it. So for a few years we were “forced friends” since our friend groups were the same.

It wasn’t until I moved back to California from Colorado, where we were encouraged to play nice, that we began to build a true friendship. It started with sunset runs along the beach, and in depth life talks. And ended with a Pismo beach trip, where we learned how perfect we were for each other….but timing was against us.

I was offered a new career as a flight attendant and temporarily moved up to Seattle for the job. Once I told Jimi about the new opportunity, he couldn’t have been happier for me. But he didn’t enjoy the fact I was gone and coming back down to Huntington Beach only once a month.

6 months later, it’s January of 2023 and Jimi invited me to join him and and his family at Disneyland. I go and we had the time of our lives. It was the trip Jimi finally told me how he truly felt about me. So in the most poetic way, he proposed in the same place he told me he loved me 8 months later. I said yes and became the happiest girl in the world.
