Why Joshua Tree?
Aiden & Cassidy chose Joshua Tree, CA, for their destination wedding as it offers a stunning and unique backdrop for photography, with its iconic desert landscapes, dramatic rock formations, and vibrant sunsets. Aiden & Cassidy are drawn to the area's serene beauty, intimate atmosphere, and the opportunity to tie the knot in a one-of-a-kind location that blends natural wonder with a sense of adventure and tranquility. The Palm Desert area is also a nostalgic vacation spot Cassidy has visited numerous times throughout her life.
Why October 15th? Why a Wednesday?
Aiden & Cassidy chose the date October 15th for their wedding day as it is a combo of their birthdays (Aiden's being October 5th, and Cassidy's being August 15th).
They are choosing to get married on a Wednesday as some vendors can be more affordable during the week.
How do we get to your venue?
*THERE IS NO ON-SITE PARKING FOR OUR VENUE EXCEPT FOR SHUTTLES*
Parking destinations will be available once guest count has been confirmed. There are 2 airbnbs that are 20 minutes away from the venue where shuttle drivers will be transporting guests to and from. You can either Uber to these airbnbs or park if you have a rental car. Shuttle pick up times will be decided once we know how many shuttles we need. Last shuttle pick up time is 1:30PM.
How are people getting around? Will there be vehicles available?
Transportation is up to you!
Cassidy & Aiden will have rental vehicles that are able to fit both of their bridal parties. If couples choose to rent their own vehicles, that is up to them. Most people will be using ubers or sharing rental cars if they are travelling to Palm Springs for Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.
It is recommended to rent vehicles for the day of the wedding (and day after) for convenient and more affordable travelling. You can Uber from Palm Springs to Yucca Valley (where the airbnb shuttle pick ups are). If you are looking for more budget friendly options, please let Cassidy & Aiden know and they can see if there are more people who would be willing to share a vehicle and carpool!
When is the best time to book flights?
We recommend tracking flight prices on Google Flights, KAYAK, or Expedia to get the best deal! Usually the best time to book is around 6 months before travel (March-June ish). Flights are usually $250-400 round trip/person from Vancouver around this time.
What airport should we fly into?
The best airport would be the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), but depending on what you are doing before the wedding, you could fly into the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or the Ontario International Airport (ONT) and drive to Palm Springs.
Where are people staying if they are travelling?
Aiden & Cassidy are flying into Palm Springs on Friday October 10th and are staying at the Marriott Desert Villas 1 until the morning of Tuesday October 14th.
On Tuesday October 14th, they will be travelling to the wedding venue to prepare and set up the venue. Cassidy will be staying with her bridal party and close friends/family at the wedding venue the night of the wedding and Aiden and his groomsmen will be staying nearby at an AirBnb in Joshua Tree.
It is recommended to stay near the venue the night of the wedding either in Joshua Tree or Yucca Valley, but most people will be staying in the Palm Springs area during the days before/after the wedding.
Should we bring gifts to the wedding?
If you are wanting to purchase and give a wedding gift to Aiden & Cassidy, we recommend not bringing physical items to their destination wedding. If you live locally, there will be a drop-off location & date and time for wedding gifts in Langley BC. You can also choose to bring gifts to the bridal shower (June 21, 2025), or the legal signing of the marriage license (August 2, 2025).
Cards are more than welcome at their destination wedding!
What should we wear?
This is a formal event, so please dress appropriately! Please keep in mind that temperatures in Joshua Tree can fluctuate throughout the day between 15-30 degrees. We recommend wearing physically lighter clothing items during the day, but having a jacket on hand during the evening. Also, feel free to wear fun colours, but hold off on intense patterns!
There will be a pool available to swim in so if you would like to partake, please bring your bathing suit and a towel. Keep in mind there will be no where on site to shower after swimming if you choose to partake (unless you are any of the 12 spending the night at the venue).
Are children invited?
Yes! If you have been invited and you have children, they have been included in our head count. If you choose to not travel with your children, please let us know!
Do we need to bring cash for the bar?
We are having an open bar, so there is no need to bring cash for the bar unless you feel the need to tip the bartender! In each physical invite, you will find a drink ticket for each invited guest over the age of 21. Please fill out the drink ticket if you wish to drink alcoholic beverages as there will be limited provided. If you fail to submit your drink ticket on time with your RSVP, we may not be able to accommodate your requests.
Will there be dietary options for food?
Yes we are hoping to have options for those will dietary restrictions or specific needs. More information to come!
If we cannot come to the October wedding, when/where are you having the legal signing?
The legal signing of the marriage license will be held on Saturday August 2, 2025. This dinner will be held in Langley (most likely at Cassidy's moms house). Location will be decided closer to the date. This is event is going to be by invite only and reserved for family and close friends.
How do we RSVP?
Please send back your physical invite with the provided envelope & stamp before April 15, 2025. If you miss the deadline, we will unfortunately have to remove you from our headcount to meet the required timeline for vendors in order to prepare for rentals, food, and drinks numbers.
