Our Wedding

We first met in October 2021 at L.O. Eyecare, where Cassidy had just started working and Ken was already part of the team. Cassidy tends to be a little shy in new places, but Ken made sure she felt welcome right away. He was one of the first to reach out, making her workdays more fun—though he couldn’t resist trying to trick her into taking a 15-minute visual field test during training! When Cassidy left L.O. Eyecare in 2023, we both realized how much we were going to miss each other and hoped our paths would cross again. Thankfully, fate stepped in. Our mutual friend (and now bridesmaid) Jenn Symmons was getting married, and we reconnected at her wedding. Soon after, we found ourselves at a friend’s housewarming party together, and from there we became gym buddies. It didn’t take long for us to realize just how much we loved being around each other and how happy we made one another. Our first official date was the day after Thanksgiving in 2024, and by December 7th, we made it official. We’re forever grateful for every step of the journey that brought us together. From coworkers, to friends, to best friends, and now to partners for life—we couldn’t be more excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife!

Hi everyone, I'm Jenn, a friend of both the bride and groom, and one of Cassidy's bridesmaids. I've actually known Ken a little longer, since we started at LO Eye Care around the same time. For nearly four years, Ken has been not just an awesome coworker, but also a great friend.

I met Cass back in 2022 when she joined LO Eye, and we quickly bonded over our shared love for nature and animals. Even though our friendship hasn’t been lifelong, Cass and I have been through a lot together, from those ridiculously long workdays to some total mental breakdowns! I often joke that I played a part in bringing these two together, especially after I seated them next to each other at my wedding last September, which is where their relationship really took off.

It's been amazing to see Cass and Ken grow as individuals, and I’m excited to see their journey as a couple. Though our friendships may not be the longest, Cassidy and Ken have become some of the most supportive and genuine friends I could ask for, and ones I’ll always cherish. I’m truly honored to stand by their sides as they commit to choosing each other, day after day, for the rest of their lives.

Jennifer Symons

I'm Megan, childhood friend of the bride Cassidy. We first met riding the bus home in elementary school. However, our friendship truly blossomed in 6th grade. We tried band together and when that didn't work out we began pushing each other to try new things. Eventually those things drifted us apart, but cheering from the sidelines. I am so ecstatic to be able to witness the beautiful union of Cassidy and Kenneth.

I'm Brendan, one of Ken's oldest friends; and now happy to find myself a groomsman in his wedding. We first became friends in preschool, along with our sisters Anna and Mackenzie. While life's journey separated us for a long time, I was thrilled to find out that we were attending the same university. We reconnected over dinner at Akers dining hall and found that despite the many years apart, we shared a lot in common. We went on to live together for the rest of our time in college, sharing in many adventures on campus and beyond. Life's journey may have separated us again, but Ken will always have a fast friend in me.

From May 2–November 1, Frederik Meijer Gardens &amp; Sculpture Park will feature a Chihuly glass art installation—an expansive, curated display of Dale Chihuly’s signature blown-glass sculptures set throughout the gardens and galleries.
