We met in 2016 our freshman year at UMD during a dorm room party. We didn't end up dating until a few years later when we started to work at the same restaurant. Jalin played the long game and didn't ask me out until about a year of working together. He offered to drive me 2 hours to pick up my car from the mechanics. On our way there we stopped at a gas station, and he noticed an old lady needing help putting air in her car tire. She had me roll down my window then pointed at Jalin to say, “that one is a keeper!" I am so glad I took her advice as we have been together ever since.

In 2020 we got Zuko. We are obsessed dog parents, and our little family wouldn't be complete without him.

Over the last 4 years we have bonded over our love of doing anything that involves being outdoors. In the summers we love spending time at both our family cabins. When we are there, you will find us on the boat all day with me reading and Jalin fishing. Otherwise we are spending quality time around a fire with our families as they are the most important people to us. If we aren't at a cabin, we like to take Zuko for walks and Jalin likes to take him hunting. We love a good night staying in watching movies together. At home I love to cook and Jalin is always happy to eat whatever I make.

We got engaged at Kettle Falls national park. This is where we went in 2019 when I met his family for the first time. It has been a tradition every year since. That day we were standing on the deck that overlooks the dam separating the United States and Canadian border. When I looked over, I noticed my entire family walking towards us. I turned around and he was on one knee. We spent the night celebrating with our favorite people. It was perfect!
