With the James River running through downtown, this island serves as a great spot to observe the stretch of urban waterway. The park is connected to the Canal Walk, another popular spot. Joey and I frequented this spot a lot during our time at VCU! It is open from sunrise to sunset and is free :)
The Poe Museum or the Edgar Allan Poe Museum, is a museum located in the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia, United States, dedicated to American writer Edgar Allan Poe. Though Poe never lived in the building, it serves to commemorate his time living in Richmond.
Richmond has a multitude of fantastic restaurants that fit a wide variety of pallets and wallets. Some restaurants have even been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on Food Network! When in doubt, trust the ratings on Google and Yelp.
There are two locations in RVA, this one is the larger location; however, the one on North Morris St. may be closer to where you're staying.
A tad expensive for your average coffee drink, but the building is very cool and they usually have fun seasonal drinks!
