Our Story

The photos were taken at our wedding venue - Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center... and Catherine baked the cake for our picnic!

Engagement Photos

Bella is the second oldest of the Lemus sisters. She loves coming to ATX to enjoy the Austin City Limits music festival with her sister. She's been writing her bridesmaid speech since she first heard about our engagement (no pressure) and can't wait to throw it down on the dance floor.

Alejandra is the youngest of the Lemus sisters. She, on the other hand, has been preparing her speech since birth (full pressure). She gets pretty sleepy after meals, but rest assured she will pull herself together to beat Bella at a dance battle at the wedding!

Best friend to the groom. He has not nor will not be preparing his speech until about the day prior to the “I do’s”. The dance floor is ill-prepared for the bridesmaids nor is it ready for the bride, the groom, and everyone else. All guests must be prepared for a night of fun, joy, and celebration.

Rita is Eddie’s older sister and lifelong bestie (sorry Ricky). She will have no excuse to do anything but CRUSH the dance floor after her own wedding in December 2022.

Lodging Options

Austin has a lot of great options from hotels, Airbnb's, Vrbos (whole house), and the mix of them Mint (multi-apartment). The wedding location is 20min drive south of downtown with not much around it so we recommend staying closer to the city and driving to the venue.

The most walkable &amp; city-accessible option. For those wanting to make the most out of a downtown Austin experience, we recommend this hotel due to its proximity and walking distance to restaurants, bars, and downtown entertainment. This hotel also offers free continental breakfast. Downtown Austin is generally very safe, and we enjoy walking for dinner or drinks after work.

Hampton Inn & Suites Austin-Downtown/Convention Center

This is the most cost-conscious option. Conveniently close to the Airport and highways, but a rental car or Uber will be needed to get around the city. Free RV, bus, and truck parking with Starbucks inside. The below link will send you directly to our special group rates which are not on the main website. Note: As this hotel is off the highway it is ideal for those who will have a car or are not interested in being in the city.

Courtyard by Marriott Austin South

The most family/group-friendly option. One, two, or three-bedroom apartment vacation rental in the heart of Austin’s famed South Congress entertainment district. South Congress is within walking distance from the apartments and has plenty of great restaurants, shops, and attractions. Apartments have full kitchens, and cabanas by the pool, and offer up to three times the space of a standard hotel room. Ideal for larger families or groups instead of multiple hotel rooms.

This is Eddie's fav Austin BBQ, but it typically has a 20-40 minute line...don't worry, it's worth it!

Riverside/Zilker

A lively area named for the nearby 358-acre park with ideal views of the city and Lady Bird Lake.<a href="https://www.austintexas.gov/department/ann-and-roy-butler-hike-and-bike-trail-and-boardwalk-lady-bird-lake" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Boardwalk</a> - Walking and biking trail along the whole river downtown. Eddie and Cat tend to go walking here every Sunday morning<a href="https://www.austintexas.gov/department/zilker-metropolitan-park" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zilker Park</a> - A beloved park with the city in the backdrop. A more suburburban quiet area outside of downtown that the wedding will be situated in. <a href="https://www.wildflower.org/about" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Wildflower Center </a>- The official Botanic Garden and Arboretum of Texas was started by Lady Bird Johnson and is part of the Univesity of Texas—also our wedding site<a href="https://www.austintexas.gov/department/veloway" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Veloway</a> - 5K Bike and Rollerblade trail for cycling. Eddie likes working out here as it is a very smooth race surface near other mountain biking trails<a href="https://districtaustin.com/menu/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">District Austin</a> - A New American cocktail and kitchen partnered with local farmers and fishermen

Here is some wedding guest outfit inspiration to get ideas flowing! The dress code is colorful cocktail with temperatures between 65° and 85°F. The welcome party and wedding events take place after 5 p.m. so layers are recommended to ensure you are cool enough when the sun is up but aren't too cold once it sets. The wedding venue has COBBLESTONE AND GRASS, so flat shoes, wedge heels, or block heels will be best.&nbsp;
