Hiking Trails

Glacier National Park - If you're looking for a drive and incredible views, GNP is 3hrs away. Among more than 700 miles of hiking trails, it has a route to photogenic Hidden Lake. Reservations for Going-to-the-Sun Road must be made in advance! Plan accordingly!

Yellowstone National Park - From Missoula, it is about a 4hr drive to YNP West Entrance. Don't pet the wildlife! ;)

Banff National Park - If you're looking to turn this trip into a cross country adventure, this Canadian national park is about a 7hr drive from Missoula. Bring your passport!

Council Grove State Park – Local park. Beautiful location, remote feeling but easy to get to! The Clark Fork River winds through it, beautiful views, pine trees and meadows

Blue Mountain Recreation Area –On the south side of Missoula but easy to get to, lots of people bring their dogs, many different trails you can take

The M – University District, Mount Sentinel, start on the grounds of the University takes you up to the big “M” on the mountain, pretty steep with switch-backs but you can do it! great views of the city

The L – Rattlesnake, Mount Jumbo, less steep in areas as the M, but also great views of the city, takes you all the way up to the “L” on the mountain or you can keep going to reach the top of mount Jumbo, some switch-backs

Rattlesnake State Park – Rattlesnake, perfect long hike in the Mountains, great for cross-country skiing in the Winter Missoula River Trail/bike path – Downtown, paved path that follows the river, great for bike riding, walking, skateboarding, roller blading, and taking kids in strollers

Kettlehouse Amphitheater – One of the best outdoor live music venue in Montana! Hit up logjampresents.com for their June 2025 concerts

Clark Fork River Float with the Clark Fork Yacht Club – East Missoula to Downtown, slow and easy, they take care of everything you need to float including tubes, and transportation, super popular activity for all Missoulians in the Summer

Nelsons Guides and Flies - About a 3hr and 20min drive from Missoula. This is my FAVORITE guided fly fishing experience. Located in Paradise Valley, MT. The most beautiful place you'll ever fly fish. Schedule far in advance!

White Water Rafting/Kayak - Montana River Guides or Zootown Surfers, these guys will help guide you down some of the greatest rafting adventures in the State, explore the Alberton gorge right near White Raven!

Saturday Morning Farmer’s Market – Downtown (North Higgins, Circle Square, super popular!! You don’t want to miss! Every Saturday mid-May to mid-October, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

Out to Lunch and Downtown Tonight – Downtown at Caras Park, a local favorite, only hosted in June, July, and August. Out to Lunch is every Wednesday (11 am – 2 pm), and Downtown Tonight is every Thursday (5:30 – 8:30 pm), come for the local live music and purchase food from some of the many local food trucks!

Wilma Theater – Downtown, super cool, newly restored historic building, beautiful indoor venue for all types of music, hit up logjampresents.com for upcoming concerts

The Roxy Theater – Hip Strip, super cool little local theater, showing some of the greatest movies of all time

Fishing at Fish Creek State Park– near White Raven, I90 exit towards Fish Creek (851 Rivulet Road, Alberton MT), fish, hike, and visit the biggest ponderosa pine in Montana! Day use only, all year-long

Lookout Throwing Company – Central Missoula, try your best to hit the mark, flannel attire recommended! BYOB

Montana Adventure Shuttle – Go anywhere! They supply the transportation!

Frenchtown Pond State Park – Frenchtown, MT, located between White Raven and Missoula, a great pond for enjoying some water activities (canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing), there are also picnic pavilions and a playground for kids

Quinns Hot Springs Resort – Paradise, MT, A little over an hour drive, but great for guests who want to travel a bit during their stay, they have cabins available for rent as well and great hot springs pools
