Our Story

Our Story

We met online in the fall of 2019. We quickly felt a connection to one another and began dating on November 15th, 2019. We've crossed many obstacles over the years including; a global pandemic, long distances apart, short distances apart, many career changes, two apartments and the addition of our adored puppy Ozzy.

Through it all, we've remained strong and built on the foundation of our relationship, love.

The West Arm holds a very special place in our hearts. It has been a safe heaven for many including Al, who found peace, calm, kindness, generosity, happiness and an abundance of love amongst the people who reside there.

We couldn't have thought of a more special place to say "I do"

Dress Code

COLOURFUL & FORMAL FUN

We’d love for our guests to dress up and embrace colour! Think fun, flowery, bright, and elegant — bold colours, soft pastels, florals, and joyful patterns are all welcome. This is the perfect chance to wear something vibrant and celebratory.

We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white (to let the couple shine), black, or olive green, as our bridesmaids will be wearing this colour. We’re hoping for a lively, colourful atmosphere filled with joy and celebration.

Thank you for helping us create a beautiful, colour-filled celebration — we can’t wait to see all your amazing looks!

Ideas & Advice

Q + A

Where is the wedding taking place?

Our wedding will be held at a private lakefront property (my parents’ home). The exact address and detailed directions will be shared closer to the wedding date to help ensure a smooth arrival for everyone.

Is there parking available?

Yes! Parking will be available directly across the street from the venue. The venue will be on the right-hand side of the road, and guest parking will be located on the left-hand side. We kindly encourage guests to carpool wherever possible to help keep things smooth and simple for everyone. Clear signage will be in place to guide you when you arrive.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Since the wedding is outdoors on a lakeside property, we recommend choosing footwear that’s comfortable for grass and uneven ground. Block heels, wedges, dressy flats, or nice sandals are great options!

Is there a dress code?

Our wedding style is classy, elegant, and lakeside-chic. We kindly ask guests to dress semi-formal to formal. We also ask that guests avoid wearing white (to let the couple shine), black, or olive green, as our bridesmaids will be wearing this colour.

Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will take place outdoors by the lake. We’ll also have a large tent set up to keep everyone comfortable and protected from the elements, including coverage for guests, food, and beverages. We’ve planned with comfort in mind so the celebration can be enjoyed rain or shine.

What happens if it rains?

We have a solid backup plan in place to keep everyone comfortable no matter the weather. A large tent will be set up to accommodate all guests and protect our food and beverages, so the celebration will go on rain or shine. We’ve planned with comfort in mind and can’t wait to celebrate together no matter what the forecast brings!

Will the ceremony be unplugged?

Yes — we will be having an unplugged ceremony. We kindly ask guests to put phones and cameras away so everyone can be fully present with us during this special moment. Our photographer will capture everything for us to share later!

What time should I arrive?

Guests are asked to arrive between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM. This allows time to grab a drink, find your seat, and settle in before we say “I do.”

Will there be a bar?

Yes! We’ll be hosting a toonie bar during the celebration, along with table wines served with dinner. We can’t wait to raise a glass and celebrate together — please remember to plan ahead for safe transportation if you’ll be enjoying a few drinks.

Are children welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be mostly an adults-only celebration. A few children from our immediate families will be included in the ceremony, but outside of those specific roles, we kindly ask that guests not bring children. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope this allows everyone to relax and enjoy the evening with us.

Will Ozzy be there?

If you know us, you know Ozzy is a huge part of our lives! While he may not be mingling with guests all evening, you’ll definitely see little touches of him throughout the day.

Transportation / Rides

We recommend arranging transportation in advance if you plan on celebrating with us into the evening. Ride shares, designated drivers, or nearby accommodations are all great options.

When do I need to RSVP?

Please RSVP by the date listed on your invitation so we can finalize seating, catering, and all the little details that make the day special.

Can I bring a plus one?

If your invitation includes a plus one, they will be listed on your invite. Due to space limitations, we kindly ask guests to stick to the names provided.
