We are officially one week away from the BIG day/weekend! 🎉 We are super excited and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone. We wanted to give an update and reminders on some things before hand.
Update:
- We know on the original invitation that the bbq and breakfast said to please bring a side dish/drink to share. We can happily say you do not have to and we are sorry for any confusion.
- If you would like to help with any setting up, transition, or break down let us know. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Reminders:
- Colorado is transitioning into fall. Even though it will be absolutely breathtaking with all the color changes, it will also be cooler weather.
- There is a heated pool and hot tub. So don’t forget to bring a swimsuit. If you do forget, there is a Walmart within 20 min from the house and also many wonderful shops in downtown. Durango also has natural hot springs that we recommend checking out!
- We are in the mountains and on 83 acres of private property. They are having a really good hunting season this year so when on the property you will most likely see wildlife of different sizes. Please be cognizant of this as some will not be friendly if encountered. Do not leave any food or drinks in your vehicles.
- Inside the house there are MANY taxidermy mounts. They range from full size on the floor to just heads hanging on the wall. Please keep an eye on children as these will be VERY expensive if damaged.
- There will be ZERO smoking of any kind allowed in the house. We will have a smoking section outside designated for that.
- This one is extremely important! We will be staying at an elevation of about 7,500-8,000ft. To put this into perspective we will be about 1,000ft higher than big bear lake and 4,200ft higher than the top of Vernal falls. It WILL be rough for some to get used to. Even if you think you will be fine please still hydrate. We recommend to start drinking water now and throughout your time with us. We will have a hydration station with water and a variety of hydration packets. If at all during the weekend you feel a little light headed or having trouble breathing, PLEASE GO STRAIGHT TO either the bridesmaid, Casey Patten, or the mother of the groom, Merry Patten.
- Directions: There is little to No reception when entering the mountains. We HIGHLY recommend using APPLE MAPS and pre downloading the map to your phone. You won’t be able to call us when you get close. If you get lost try to make your way back to town and call either Chad or myself. We do have WiFi at the house.
* Driving in from Bayfield on Co Rd 501. Make a LEFT on Co Rd 240. You will see a road on your right called “Skyline Dr”. About a mile after you pass Skyline Dr you will make a LEFT.
* Driving in from Durango on Co Rd 240/Florida Rd you will see “Groves Dr” on the left. You will turn down the next road on your RIGHT.
* LOOK for the WAGON at the end of the road and turn LEFT. This road will take you straight to the house. It will also be narrow so keep a lookout for cars coming down.
If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Again, we can’t wait to celebrate and have fun with everyone! We hope ya’ll enjoy our unplugged weekend and thank you for taking the time to be with us!❤️
Love,
Chad & Erica
