Ride sharing services like Uber are extremely limited, expensive, and unpredictable in the mountains. If you are staying at the Greystone, you likely don't need a car for the weekend as the wedding is located right next to the hotel. If you are staying somewhere OTHER than the Greystone, we highly recommend that you rent a car for the weekend so you can explore the area and get to Lake Toxaway for the events. Please keep in mind that there won't be transportation provided to or from the hotels, so we recommend carpooling and having a designated driver so everyone can get home safely!

Because we have rooms blocked, the hotels will appear fully booked online for the weekend of September 13-15. To reserve one of the rooms in our block, you will need to call the hotel directly and tell them you are with the Brown-Reixa wedding.

Lake Toxaway is in a temperate rain forest, so the weather can be a bit unpredictable. Temperatures can range anywhere from the mid-50s to the high-70s, and it will likely rain at some point. So don't forget to pack an umbrella or rain jacket, and we recommend bringing a wrap or pashmina for the outdoor ceremony in case it is chilly.

For the Welcome Party on Friday Night, the attire is Nautical Smart - think khakis and a blazer, sundresses, slacks and a dressy top, etc. For the wedding on Saturday, the attire is Black Tie. The ceremony will be held on a lawn (weather permitting), and in general the area around the Greystone is very hilly with some uneven stairs, so we recommend that ladies wear wedges or block heels - leave those stilettos at home, Aunt Holly! :)

Due to venue restrictions and the reception located so close to the lake at night, we respectfully ask that no children under the age of 13 attend the weekend.

The Lake Toxaway Country Club (LTCC) has a restaurant open for lunch and dinner, a bar, and a poolside restaurant. It also has a pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, croquet lawns, golf, and a fitness center. LTCC privileges includes access to the restaurants, pool, and bar where you can pay for food and drinks with your own credit card, and the ability to reserve courts, tee times, or use the fitness center for an additional cost. If you're staying at the Greystone, LTCC privileges will be automatically included in your stay. If you're not staying at the Greystone and would like to use the club, please email Jane Brown (jnorthbrown@gmail.com) no later than September 1st.

The Lake Toxaway Marina is not affiliated with the Greysone or Country Club, so anyone can reserve boats, kayaks, and paddle boards there. For more info and to make reservations, check out their website: https://www.laketoxawaymarine.com/rentals
