Our Wedding

Garrett and I met on the dating website Hinge and he first messaged me asking what book I was carrying in my purse. We connected over reading and our first date was about one month after talking online, at our favorite brewery Fiction on November 11, 2019. Our first vacation together happened in January and the rest is history-quarantine did our relationship good! Our favorite activities together include camping, exploring national parks, book club, game nights, and of course anything involving cheese plates and food. We are so excited to start our new adventure together!

Our Story

Chelsea and Garrett went on a road trip through New Mexico and Texas where they had planned to ride in a hot air balloon at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Unfortunately when they drove out to the site with the group, the winds would push them to the airport thus cancelling the ride. They continued to explore some new national parks and had a great road trip. After a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant after they got all dressed up and had tequila flights, Chelsea cried to Garrett because she was convinced he was going to propose and he didn't. That's when he told her he had planned on it, on the balloon ride, but it got cancelled. Plus, the jeweler didn't have the ring ready when they promised they would. Chelsea then felt like an asshole. So they continued on with their lives until making plans to celebrate their two year anniversary. At which point Chelsea asked Garrett if he was planning on proposing but he felt guilty because it didn't feel special. Chelsea felt that New Mexico was special and even though it didn't work out, she wanted to marry Garrett and didn't want to wait any longer. So he picked up the ring and they went out for a nice dinner and dessert, where Garrett asked Chelsea to marry him at home afterwards. She obviously said yes!

Our Proposal

2022 is an exciting year for the both of us! In the middle of the pandemic and with all our road trips, we decided we wanted to do more than just sleep in the back of Chelsea's subaru or rent hotels around the country and thus decided on customizing a teardrop trailer! It was finally finished at the end of January, and we are so excited to take it out for adventures. In addition to customizing our teardrop, we also are customizing a new townhouse in the Southlands suburbs. Garretts ready to have a separate game room and Chelsea is dreaming about how she'll decorate her craft room. Lots of big expensive changes, but we don't want children, so we're more than happy to spend the money on ourselves!

Jen and Chelsea met in nursing school in 2013 but didn’t really start hanging out until after graduation when they were both working together at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Their first big adventure was a road trip down to Austin, Texas for their birthdays and they were inseparable after this.  They decided each year for a birthday trip as their birthdays are only 9 days apart. The pandemic broke up their mojo-Jen was turning 30, Chelsea was graduating with her doctorate, and they were all set to celebrate their fifth birthday extravaganza in Greece. Alas, 2022 is the year to start celebrating together again!  

Although Chelsea has moved back to Colorado and Jen has relocated to Minneapolis, they remain best friends and talk about everything, on every social media possible, everyday.  Chelsea cannot imagine getting married without Jen by her side, and she's so excited to make Jen plan her bachelorette party! (However, already started and shared a google document, just in case).

Located 1.5 miles (5 minutes) from Evergreen Lake House with 18 rooms available. Rooms include 2 queen beds and are pet friendly, include a hot tube, free breakfast and kitchens.

Highland Haven Creekside Inn

Located 4.5 miles from the Evergreen Lake House (10 minutes). Rooms available include queen bed and pertinent amenities include pet-friendly, free breakfast and a hot tub!

Bears Inn Bed and Breakfast

Located 2 miles (7 minutes) from the Evergreen Lake House and includes 10 cabins. Cabin options with 1 queen + 1 twin, 1 king + 2 twins or 3 queens. Amenities include pet friendly and there are kitchens in all rooms.

Colorado Bear Creek Cabins

At this time we are looking into providing transportation from the Comfort Suites Hotel to the Evergreen Lake House. However, we will not be booking until we are more aware of how many guests will be staying here. Our goal will be to provide drop off times prior to the ceremony and pick up times during and after the reception to provide a safe ride and encourage a good time. More details to come!

Travel

Perfect trailhead with a number of different hikes and gorgeous views if you want to get above the tree line. For an easy hike, we recommend the Brother's Lookout (2 miles), for a moderate hike, we recommend the Panorama Point (3 miles) or the Evergreen Mountain Trail (4 miles).

Alderfer/Three Sisters Park East Trailhead

Looking to visit a local brewery? We love the lariat lodge! They have an awesome outdoor patio that overlooks the main street, a dog friendly area, great beer and comfort food!

Lariat Lodge Brewing Company

Looking for some great mountain disc golfing? Beaver Ranch located in Conifer (25 minutes south) is one of our favorites! It's a beautiful mountain course where you can get some hiking in. This park includes 21 baskets over 60 acres with a separate Putt and Approach course with 20 baskets over 15 acres. They have a fully stocked pro shop and day passes are $12.
