Please be aware that it is a 2 and a half hour drive from the airport/Victoria ferry, through a windy mountain road with no cell service.

We are staying at the South Beach of Pacheedaht campgrounds. If you are putting it into google maps, search Pacheedaht campground free day use parking. It will take you right there.

Getting Here from Southern Vancouver Island (Victoria):


By Car:

Driving Distance: Approximately 110 km, 2–2.5 hour drive

From Victoria, head northwest on Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) toward Colwood.

Continue on Hwy 1 for approximately 45 km to the junction with Hwy 14 (West Coast Highway).

Turn left onto Hwy 14 and head west toward Sooke.

Follow Hwy 14 for approximately 60 km, passing through Sooke and Jordan River.

Look for the sign marking Pacheedaht Territory, on your right.


Scenic Stops Along the Way:

Sooke Harbour: A picturesque coastal spot with charming local shops and eateries.

Jordan River: A peaceful seaside retreat popular for surfing and photography.

China Beach: A tranquil spot for beachcombing and picnicking.

Botanical Beach: Famous for its tidal pools and rugged shoreline.


Getting Here from Central Vancouver Island (Nanaimo):


By Car:

Driving Distance: Approximately 135 km, 2–3 hour drive

Follow Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) south toward Cowichan Valley.

Continue approximately 45 km to the junction with Hwy 18.

Turn right onto Cowichan Valley Hwy/BC-18 and head west toward Lake Cowichan.

In Lake Cowichan, stay left on South Shore Rd to continue along Hwy 18.

Turn left onto Pacific Marine Rd and drive approximately 50 km through serene forested areas.


Scenic Stops Along the Way:

Lake Cowichan: A serene spot for swimming, fishing, and scenic walks.

Pacific Marine Circle Route: Enjoy beautiful forest views as you drive toward Port Renfrew.
