Sacramento is a short 30 minute drive from Woodland and would be a great day or half day adventure if you're short on time. Sacramento is home to the California State Capital (a gorgeous building and worth a drive by.) Sac is full of fun restaurants, museums and eclectic day actives. Old town Sac is a historical area right on the Sacramento River and fun for kids! Below is a link with excursions to give you ideas.

The Napa Valley is an hour drive from Woodland and absolutely worth the drive! The Napa Valley consists of the city of Napa and several other smaller towns north of the city of Napa. While the Valley is known for some of the best wines in the world, if wine isn't your thing, please don't count Napa out! There is something for everyone in the Valley. Because of its distance from Woodland and the plethora of things to do I would suggest at least dedicating 2 to 3 days in this area. San Francisco is about a two hour drive from Woodland and the heart of Bay Area. The Bay Area has a rich historical and cultural background spread out over many cities but San Francisco encompasses a lot of it in one place. From the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to the lesser known but equally as as iconic Bay Bridge, you will NOT be bored. If you want a little more fast paced adventuring I would hit up San Francisco, however I would give yourself at least 2 to 3 days to cover the major things.
