I am so honored to be standing next to my best friend on her wedding day. Cheyenne is the kindest, funniest, and most faithful friend anybody could ask for. I met Cheyenne in 2019 while we both worked at Brickhouse in Indianola. When I met Cheyenne I had no idea how much better she would make my life. We often joke that this is our wedding because I have attended all of the venue tours with the couple and talk decor and more with her but I couldn't be happier for Cheyenne to be marrying Reid. Cheers to the bride and groom đ„
Robby Gilbertson - Best Man/ Brother of the Groom
Our younger years were full of riding bikes around campgrounds, making VHS movies, baseball, jamming in the basement, ping pong, folding each other up in the couch bed, and really not that much fighting! We share a special bond: Same jokes, same mannerisms, same color beards, and the same love for one another. Nobody can get me with a one-liner quite like Reid can. He is hilarious, and gracious, and caring, and so many other things. Itâs no wonder he and Cheyenne are always smiling and laughing with each other. I am thrilled to stand with this happy couple!
Drew and Reid met in the Mason City, IA hospital in the early 90âs, born just two days apart. Growing up in Forest City, they often hung out in Mark and Ritaâs basement and played various sports together throughout their childhood. Due to their similar personalities and stature, coaches would regularly mix up their names; e.g. âReid, youâre going to pass the ball in bounds to Reidâ. Their friendship extended into college when Drew attended The University of Iowa where Reid would visit and become friends with Nick and Danny (fellow groomsmen). Drew eventually moved only a handful of blocks away from Reid and Kim (fellow groomswoman) in 2021 and was later introduced to Cheyenne, a perfect match for Reid! Since then, you can find the gang going to movies at Flix or at weekly trivia outings.
Bethany Fast - Bridesmaid
Bethany met Cheyenne while they were working together in 2020. That trauma bond quickly turned into a genuine friendship, and they've been close ever since. Cheyenne has become a beloved aunt/"godmother" figure to Bethany's kids, and she and Reid are practically celebrities in their household. Bethany likes to joke that she and Cheyenne could never be friends "on paper" - they are complete opposites in so many ways. Their bond is a great example of the old cliche "opposites attract". Bethany adores Cheyenne like the little sister she never had, and sincerely believes that Cheyenne's friendship filled a gap in her life she didn't even know was there until Cheyenne cozied right in. Reid's ok, too. đ€Ș
Danny Karns - Groomsman
Danny also met Reid thru Drew while attending the University of Iowa when Reid would make the trip to visit. After a brief stint in Chicago, Illinois, he moved back to Iowa and joined both Reid and Nick in Urbandale. Together, the boys moved into their 3rd floor apartment where lots of memories and friendships were made. Danny and Reid even carpooled to work since they both work for John Deere Financial. After their fellow roommate got engaged, Danny bought a house in Waukee and Reid moved in; along with their friend Kim! Their time living together was spent watching a lot of movies, Cubs games and playing board/card games. Danny was later introduced to Cheyenne when she began hanging out at the house with the gang and the rest is history!Â
Savannah Wiederholt - Bridesmaid/Sister of the Bride
I am one of Cheyenneâs younger sisters, although we donât look very similar and have different personalities and differences in what we like to do. We both do share a love of reading and have similar music tastes. My favorite memories of Cheyenne are vacations with our family when we would go to concerts together and seeing Cheyenne have fun and be carefree.I live a few hours away but I enjoy coming home and spending time with family because we usually go to Reid and Cheyenneâs and always have a good time. I am so excited that Reid is becoming my brother-in-law as he brings so much happiness into Cheyenneâs life and everyone in my family just adores him. He is so funny and fits in so well with the dynamic of our family. I am wishing Cheyenne and Reid the best for what the future holds for them!
Nick Hullermann - Groomsman
Nick met Reid through Drew, while attending the University of Iowa. After college Nick moved to Des Moines where he lived with Reid and his two cats, at the Grayâs Lake Apartments (right across the street from Rollin's Mansion!). While Nick and the cats tolerated each other, Reid and Nickâs friendship grew. Together the two explored Des Moines. This included joining a slow pitch softball team, countless ice cream runs, walks around Grayâs Lake, discovering movie theaters that also serve food/beer, and watching Cubs baseball. Nick has the distinction of being with Reid at his happiest moment BC (Before Cheyenne) when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016 (Go Cubs Go!). After one year in Des Moines, Nick and Reid moved to Urbandale with Danny where the shenanigans continued until Nick got engaged. Although no longer roommates, they have maintained a close friendship in the years since. Nick cannot wait to help celebrate Reid and Cheyenneâs love for each other come November 1st and all the milestones to come!
Catalina Wiederholt - Bridesmaid/Sister of the Bride
Catalina is Cheyenneâs youngest sister. One word to sum up their sisterhood would be chaotic. From inside jokes to ridiculous tiktoks shared to interpretive dances caught on video. Cheyenne and Catalina canât be together without sharing inside jokes or little side comments that can bring them and only them to tears. Cheyenne taught Catalina many things while growing up, the best being their shared love for cats, and the worst being the intense rivalry during game night.
Kim Hughes - Groomswoman
Kim first met Reid through mutual friends- the story goes that Kim was annoyed Reid was tagging along on a group outing to the zoo because she wanted to catch up with friends rather than small talk with a stranger. But as everyone lucked out, Reid hates small talk so instead she just didn't have to talk to him. HOWEVER, her best friend was dating his best friend so in order to hang out with them they were forced to hangout with each other, eventually actually talking! Once they talked more a friendship formed- They bonded over cheesy jokes, talking politics, keeping up with celebrity gossip (Reid enjoys it don't let him fool you), and watching sports! As time went on the friendship grew to the point that Kim made (I mean kindly invited) Reid to join her in acting in a murder mystery podcast so she didn't have to do the two hours drive solo. Meanwhile, Reid was sharing every baseball fact he knew while they sat outside trying to think of a way to make the summer of 2020 more exciting (Kim isn't sure baseball facts was the way to go). After some time, Reid began dating Cheyenne. Kim gave Reid AMAZING advice, whether he asked for it or not, about wooing Cheyenne (which clearly worked out)! As Cheyenne came around more and more a new friendship began! Before long Kim, Reid, and Cheyenne were spending many of nights watching baseball, going to Iowa Wild and Iowa Cubs games, watching movies, playing games, and becoming a great trio!
