Things to Do

Missoula like a local

photo

We have loved spending the last 4 years in Missoula, and will miss the charm and local businesses it has to offer! Here are a few of our favorite things in Missoula:

Food and Drink Recommendations:

OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS:

COFFEE SHOPS:

- Clyde Coffee: The trendiest coffee shop in town, Clyde roasts their own beans and serve up quirky merch, tasty lattes, and pastries.

- Funk-It Coffee and Thrift: Located on the north side of town, this place is a magical combination of a coffee shop and thrift store! Cute, cozy, and a great spot to hang.

- Basecamp @ The Wren Hotel: a cute spot right downtown, they have fantastic toast options!

- La Petit: A bakery / coffee shop blend downtown on the Hipstrip. Close to the river for a coffee river walk!

- Grist: This bakery / coffee shop serves up some of the best pastries in town!

CASUAL- LUNCH AND BREAKFAST:

- Tagliare: The best sandwich you will ever have! All sandwiches are named after classic rock artists. We go 1-2 times / month, our favorite sandwich is the Beach Boy.

- Cafe Mimosa: A trendy brunch spot downtown, and a great place to go if you enjoy a boozy brunch!

- Market on Front: Fantastic breakfast burritos, but a little spicy for the average Joe! Get the aioli on the side if you don't like spice. Expect a wait on the weekends after 9 AM, or you can call ahead for pickup.

- 3B Bagels: Yummy bagels downtown. Right next to part of the farmer's market if you go on Saturdays.

- Ruby's Diner: classic diner fare on Brooks St. Also very close to Paul's Pancakes, another great spot for diner fare.

- Tandem Bakery & Cafe: Right in our neighborhood, this Gluten-free and vegan bakery will surprise you with how good it is!

- Cambie: A great spot for any meal. They have espresso and alcohol- try their mimosa flight if you get the chance!

- Notorious P.I.G. BBQ: Delicious spot for a BBQ meal with smoky meats, homemade sauces, and fantastic side options!

- Basal: fresh salads, stir fry, breakfast, smoothies, and more

CASUAL- DINNER:

- Top Hat: Great local spot with a seasonal menu and large outdoor patio. Occasionally, they will have free live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

- Plaza Azteca: Mexican restaurant on Brooks St with amazing table-side guac

- Zoo Thai: Smaller Thai restaurant, they have a sister restaurant in Driggs, ID we go to when we ski at Targhee!

- The Camino: tapas-style Mexican food with a rotating menu and delicious margaritas

- Biga Pizza: flavorful and unique pizza. They deliver- order online for ease!

- Highlander Brewery: Located further from downtown by the airport, this brewery has a large outdoor area and pizza by the slice with occasional live music. We had our first date here!

- Michi Ramen Bar: A small restaurant with savory and unique noodle and rice bowls.

FANCY- DINNER:

- Finn: Steakhouse and seafood right on the river. Make a reservation if you want to sit outside on their gorgeous patio!

- 1889: Steakhouse in the heart of downtown, great steak and wine selection.

- Saketome: Sushi with beautiful ambiance

SWEET TREAT:

- Big Dipper Ice Cream: Local favorite, huge selection of flavors! Two locations: one in the "hip strip" downtown, and one over by Brooks St. Four flavors of their ice cream will be served at our reception, but head there if you want to try their wide selection of more unique flavors!

- Bigfoot Cookies: great flavor options, way better than Crumbl!

OUR FAVORITE BARS / BREWERIES:

- The Union Club: Live music every weekend night! Fun dance floor, dive bar feel, and the best fries and homemade ranch you will ever have.

- Plonk: a more upscale cocktail lounge. Great selection of wine and seasonal cocktails.

- 7R Rooftop Bar: The roof of the AC Hotel, this bar is small but has great views!

- 3 in the Side: Pool hall in the basement of a bar called "The Golden Rose". They also have 3 dartboards.

- Stave & Hoop: A speakeasy bar in the basement. Dim lighting, good food, and fun cocktails!

- Katie O'Keefes: A larger bar not in the downtown scene. Sports memorabilia, darts, pool, board games, etc. More spread out with more places to sit.

- The Rhino: a smaller dive bar with a huge selection of draft beer, cider, and seltzer.

- Draught Works brewery: Pronounced "draft works". Just outside of downtown. They have a great patio and usually have a food truck.

- Western Cider: Just outside of downtown, they have a great patio and fun ciders to try- alcoholic and non.

Additionally, make your way over to Westside lanes for bowling, Lookout axe throwing (they allow you to BYOB), Get Air trampoline park, or search https://www.missoulaevents.net/ to lookup daily events and activities!
