Chloe and Kirby first met on September 9th, 2017. At the time, Chloe was playing volleyball at West Virginia University, and Kirby was playing baseball at High Point University. It was a beautiful fall weekend in Morgantown, WV and football season was underway. Kirby and a few teammates made the trip to WVU for the home football game. After catching the game Saturday, Kirby and Chloe were out on the town with teammates and friends. Both groups ended up at the same bar, where the two exchanged glances all night until Kirby approached Chloe with a tap on the shoulder and the infamous “Hey, do I know you?”. As Chloe had only been at WVU a few months, it’s safe to say the answer was “No?” However, the pickup line did the trick, and the two talked and danced the rest of the night, and exchanged numbers.


They were long-distance friends for over a year and continued to grow closer over time. Finally, in November of 2018, the pair decided to meet again in person. Chloe booked a flight to Tampa and flew to visit Kirby over Thanksgiving break. The connection was instantaneous. On November 20th, 2018, they started dating.


Over the past 5 years, the pair transferred schools, had a long distance relationship for 3 years, graduated college, pursued professional careers, and got their first apartment together in Charleston, South Carolina in 2022. Charleston has brought many adventures and the pair have settled in to their new home. On April 30th, 2023, at their favorite beach spot on Sullivans Island, Kirby proposed and she said YES
