Where It All Started

It all started on October 31st, 2023 when Luke and Chloe met at StretchLab in New Braunfels. Chloe had already been working here for about 5 months, and Luke was there for his first day of training. Luke was also brand new to Texas, as he had just moved from his home state in Michigan. He was looking for a fresh start, good food, warmer weather, and a Texas wife! Dressed as Houston Astros player José Altuvé for halloween at work that day, Chloe immediately caught his attention. Fast forward to two weeks later on November 13th, she finds Luke on instagram and slides into his dm’s to spark conversation outside of work. It’s obvious to Luke she has a thing for him at this point, but it was reciprocated so he went along with it! They proceeded to chat all night, into November 14th. They bonded first over their preference of spidermans (Andrew Garfield of course), their fascination of beautiful sunsets, their love for travel, and so much more.

How things Escalated

As most people know, Chloe is a huge Parker McCollum fan. After hearing that he lived in a nearby neighborhood, she decided to go find his house. Once she found it, her car ended up breaking down near the country music star’s street! Some coworkers had to come and jump her car to get it out and relocated. Luke ended up volunteering to drive her 30 minutes to and from work every day while it got fixed, which is how they were able to get to know each other so quickly! Thanksgiving came around, and Chloe’s car was still not working, so Luke invited her to dinner with he and his Uncle Steve. After a fun day of football watching, game playing, and good food, Luke drove Chloe back home. This is when he asked her to “hangout” after work on Saturday, which ultimately was their first date!

It was a very pleasant evening in Gruene going to random antique shops and making a stop at “Winery On the Gruene” for a tasting. Luke thoughtfully bought her a glass from the winery, and it will always serve as a sweet memory from their first date. Dinner took place at the classic Gristmill restaurant, and once they finished eating the night continued as they went for a walk down by the river to sit on a bench. They sat and talked for about an hour, and it was confirmed that they were now entering the dating stage! However, not boyfriend and girlfriend just yet.

A journal entry made by Chloe a few days after their first date. She knew only because of the peace and joy Luke brought to her life so suddenly, that God had sent this man for her.

Luke and Chloe had a work Christmas party the weekend after their night in Gruene, and decided to attend this event as each other’s date! It was a fun night of mingling, laughing, drinking, corn hole, and more at Pour Haus in downtown New Braunfels. To close it out after taking Chloe home, Luke asked her to officially be his girlfriend and they shared their first kiss once she said yes!

The two spent over a year and a half of dating, experiencing a lot of life changes together, learning how to keep God at their relationship center, understanding how to be a good partner to one another, and falling more and more in love with each other each day. On July 4th of 2025, Luke decided it was time to get down on one knee, and dedicate their lives to one another with their engagement!

So there you have it, our story. We hope you love it as much as we do! You aren't called to move your entire life to a new state for no reason, and cars don't magically breakdown so you can conveniently get to know the new guy at work more. We challenge each other and bring out our best sides. Where one of us is weak the other is strong, leaving us with a good balance in all areas. Jesus and proper communication are always at the center of our relationship, because you need both to function with a partner for life. We were brought together by none other than God Himself, and we have been inseparable since the day we met. We can’t wait to start our own family through marriage, and are so grateful to have amazing friends and family members to be there for us on our big day!
