Head to the Historic District of Gruene where the bride and groom had their first date! There are antique shops, merchandise stores, a dance hall, live music, good eating, and lots of adult beverage opportunities! The Gristmill Restaurant and Winery on the Gruene are our favorites.
In the mood for some shopping? The San Marcos Outlets located near the hotel and venue, have a ton of store varieties! Be sure to stop by Cavender’s Boot City while you’re there. That is where the groom bought his first pair of Texas boots with the bride before they started dating!
If you are looking to play a good round of golf, Landa Park Golf Course is the place to be in New Braunfels - and it is also the very sight where Luke and Chloe got engaged!
Local German Festival of New Braunfels, Wurstfest, will be happening November 7th-15th which is our wedding week. If you have the time, highly recommend checking it out! It is so fun, there's tasty german foods to be eaten, live music to be listened to, and more!
Looking for a fun night in downtown New Braunfels? Our favorite combo for that would be to grab some delicious pizza at Bootleggers, then mosey on over to Cowboys and Cadillacs down the road for a fun rooftop country bar experience! To end the night with some award winning treats, stop by food network winner 2 Tarts Bakery right next door - we will also have some of their dessert featured at our wedding!
Thirsty for some good coffee? These are our top 3 choices in San Marcos if you are looking for a nice brew to start your day. Mochas & Javas is a Texas State student favorite with some quality espresso. Summer moon has unique wood fired coffee and is known for its delicious "moon milk". Texas Bean & Brew is a great place to sit down with a cute coffee mug and order breakfast or brunch to go with it!
Hungry for some lunch or dinner in San Marcos? These restaurants offer a variety of tasty cuisines and unique ambiance. For a yummy Mexican food experience, without a doubt head to Chuy’s and grab a marg while you’re there! Or for a menu with more variety, eat right on the river at Ivar's River Pub - we highly recommend the BBQ mac and cheese!
