Our Wedding

It was December of 2022 and both Kristine and Chris were getting ready for the holidays. A Bay Area lifer, Kristine had settled in with 3 wonderful roommates in Potrero Hill and was hitting her stride at her new job working with adolescents for the first time. Chris had just finished his second year in San Francisco, had just returned from a trip to Europe working to keep boxing in the Olympic Games. They met at a Spanish tapas and wine bar, and immediately were drawn to each others' strong sense of character and passion for helping others. They exchanged recommendations for movies and TV shows (which both proceeded to watch immediately), and their relationship grew. They went to Broadway shows, stand up comedy, and continued crossing off Bay Area restaurants from their list. As their relationship evolved, they bonded over their shared passion for snowboarding and surfing. They frequented Palisades in Lake Tahoe for weekend snowboarding excursions, and conquered both the slopes of Jackson Hole, Utah, Zermatt, and Big Sky as well as the waves of Sayulita, Mexico. They introduced each other to friends and family, who immediately noticed their connection. They've attended weddings together and both realized that this was the future they wanted for each other. After galivanting throughout western Europe for a European Christmas market tour, they spent time with their families and Chris began plans to propose. After arriving in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics, they made plans for dinner near the Eiffel Tower. While beach volleyball made it difficult to find a quiet spot, he eventually found a patch of grass and convinced Kristine to marry him. They spent the rest of the week enjoying swimming, debating whether Lebron James or Steph Curry was the alpha of USA Basketball, viewing beach volleyball under the Eiffel Tower, and supporting USA Boxers as part of the team delegation. Flava Flav even got in on the celebration! Their love has only grown stronger over time, and they cannot wait to celebrate their marriage with family and friends!

There are multiple options to travel from Chicago to South Bend, IN. If driving, take I-80/90 E directly to exit 77 in Indiana (~90 minutes). Other options for transportation (trains, buses, etc.) can be found <a href="https://transportation.nd.edu/travel-to-and-from-campus/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" data-sleek-node-id="219568">here</a>. A majority of wedding guests will be flying into Chicago. Please let Chris or Kristine know of your flight plans and we can try to connect you with others for carpool purposes!
