You can, quite literally, do almost anything in NYC. Here are some of our favorites!
Go for a stroll in NYC's most iconic park in what should be peak leaf season! Located north of 59th Street (right in the center). Great for a morning run (about 6 miles for a full loop). Not pictured: appropriate attire for mid-October.
If you think you're trendy enough to visit Brooklyn, walking over the Brooklyn Bridge is a great way to get there! Once you're across you can visit Time Out Market for some great food or relax in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Hop on the elevated rail-turned-public park and enjoy the fall foliage on your walk up to Hudson Yards! Have lunch at Mercado Little Spain (highly recommend the gaspacho) and go up to The Edge for great views of the city.
One of our favorite touristy activities has been taking in the views of the city on a cruise in New York Harbor. There are plenty of options to choose from, just make sure to book in advance (and be back in time for the party)!
Caroline's favorite is Prince Street Pizza, but Chris insists John's is the way to go. Realistically, you can pop in to pretty much any 99¢ shop and get a decent slice. Perhaps the best way to end a night out is at Soho 99¢ Pizza, conveniently located nowhere near Soho at 14th & 7th.
As carb connoisseurs, we have put in work visiting some of the best bakeries in NYC. Our faves are linked below:
- Mah Ze Dahr (best croissant)
- Dominique Ansel (come for the cronut, stay for the kouign-amann)
- Librae (try the basque cheesecake)
- Levain (the cookies are ridiculous)
- Breads Bakery (for some delicious chocolate babka)
- Magnolia Bakery (it's touristy, but the banana pudding and blueberry crumble are worth it)
We love dim sum! Check out some of our fav spots in Chinatown if you’re hungry and want to spend the morning eating some of the most delicious food (and avoid the insane New York prices):
- Hay Hay Roasted for duck (cash only, nowhere to sit)
- Mei Lai Wah for pineapple pork buns (prepare for a wait but it’s worth it)
- Deluxe Green Bo for soup dumplings (try the crab & pork). Their scallion pancakes and pork buns are also amazing!
Brunch is an extreme sport in NYC. If you dare to attempt it, make sure you get a reservation early! Here are some great brunch spots to fuel up before a night of dancing:
- Bubby's (TriBeCa)
- Pastis (Meatpacking)
- Breakfast by Salt’s Cure (West Village)
- Jacob’s Pickles (Upper West Side)
- Thai Diner (Nolita)
- Sunday in Brooklyn (Williamsburg)
Go for the art! Go for the culture! Or, if you're like us, go for the amazing rooftop bar with the fabulous view!
Check out the free museums & galleries in Chelsea! There's tons to choose from with a lot of variety - we recommend:
It's a New York classic! If you have time, snag some tickets for a matinee while you're in town. You can't go wrong with Hamilton or Wicked, but our favorites are Six, Shucked, and Cursed Child. You can get tickets here!
