Where to stay

We're thrilled that you're joining us in Vancouver for our wedding and we can't wait to celebrate together! As a heads-up, Vancouver will be hosting matches for the FIFA World Cup in summer 2026, which is likely to drive up demand, prices, and limited availability for hotels and Airbnbs. To get the best choices and rates, we strongly suggest booking your accommodations as soon as you can. We've put together a short list of recommended options at the "accommodations" section on the website.

What is the dress code?

We're so excited to share our special day with our loved ones, seeing everyone looking and feeling fabulous as we celebrate together. For the occasion, we invite you to wear formal attire that works beautifully for both our outdoor garden ceremony and the elegant Chinese-Vietnamese banquet reception that follows. Above all, please select something that makes you feel confident, joyful, and ready to celebrate with us from the ceremony through the evening festivities!

Is there a registry?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all. However, if you wish to honor us with a gift, in keeping with Chinese-Vietnamese wedding customs, the most appreciated way to celebrate with us is by presenting a red envelope (hóngbāo or lai see) containing a monetary gift. Red envelopes symbolize good fortune, prosperity, and blessings for our future together, and the cash inside helps us as we begin our married life. This longstanding tradition is both meaningful and practical, allowing you to contribute an amount that feels comfortable for you.

Can i bring a plus One?

Because of limited venue capacity, we kindly request that only the guests named on your invitation attend the wedding. If you have been invited with a plus-one, their name will be listed alongside yours on the RSVP page. We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you so much!

Is parking available?

[Wedding Ceremony at UBC Botanical Garden] Paid parking is available directly on-site at the Garden's visitor lot (Payable via the Honk Mobile app or on-site options). Spaces are generally ample for visitors, so driving should be convenient. [Wedding Reception at Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant] The restaurant has its own parking lot, but spaces are very limited and often fill up quickly, especially for evening events. Street parking in the area can also be challenging to find. For the easiest and most stress-free experience—particularly for the reception—we highly recommend using Uber or another rideshare service. To help with transportation costs on our wedding day, we'll be providing Uber discount codes, which will be shared with you closer to the event and only used for your way back home after the reception. Thank you for your understanding—we want everyone to arrive relaxed and ready to celebrate!

Can i take photos during the ceremony?

To help everyone stay fully present during the ceremony, we kindly ask that everyone remain unplugged. Our professional photographers and videographers will capture all the special moments, and we’ll share the photos and videos with you afterward. You’re welcome to take pictures before and after the ceremony, as well as throughout the reception!
