Our Wedding

Chris and Sheela met at the Above &amp; Beyond Group Therapy Weekender in July 2019 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State. Chris and Sheela’s paths crossed in a moment that felt like fate, they spent much of the weekend together. By the time the festival wrapped up, they had exchanged numbers and decided to stay in touch.At the time, Sheela was attending dental hygiene school, while Chris was working at a bank in Victoria, BC. The distance between them—ferries, flights, and borders—could have been a barrier, but instead, it fueled their budding romance. For two years, they navigated long-distance love with late-night calls, weekend visits, and countless messages that bridged the miles. Every reunion felt like coming home, and every goodbye only made their bond stronger.After that period, they settled down together in Vancouver, BC, building a life side by side. They spent most of their time trying new restaurants, hiking through the mountains and travelling around the world. Over the next few years, their relationship grew steadily through the adventures they shared and obstacles they overcame together.Five years after meeting, Chris planned a helicopter tour over the Lower Mainland as the setting for his proposal. After taking in the views of the city, coastline, and mountains, he proposed at a scenic landing spot, and Sheela said yes!Not long after the engagement, Chris and Sheela turned the page to a new chapter. They packed up their Vancouver life and moved to Calgary, Alberta, where they purchased their first home together. It was more than just a house; it was a foundation for the family they dreamed of building, filled with laughter, music (perhaps some Above &amp; Beyond), and the promise of forever.
