The Indian community absolutely LOVES when non-Indian guests embrace the culture and wear Indian clothes. Older women will be over the moon to help you tie a saree or fix your blouse. No matter what you choose to wear (western or ethnic), make sure you can enjoy the food and dance the night away. This is what Indian weddings are known for!
Vibrant and colourful clothing is often favoured at Henna parties, so don’t be afraid to wear lively hues!
Avoid wearing all-white or all-black.
The Henna Party is your chance to have fun with prints and colours! The Henna Party calls for a kurta (tunic) and slim pants or a black/navy bandhgala jacket with formal trousers (or breeches if you are feeling more experimental) with your pocket square adding a pop of colour. A smart dinner jacket or a suit are other elegant options.

Wear something bright, playful and colourful!
Avoid wearing all-white or all-black.
You may opt for a billowing printed cape with tulip pants, flared palazzos, or a draped skirt. Women can also turn to a lehenga worn with an embellished top, which can be sequined or embroidered, off-shoulder or ruffled, cropped, or peplum. A classic Indian sari with ruffled detailing or an elegant western gown will also do the trick. Since the Henna party is all about dancing, make sure your outfit is easy to move around in, too.

Whether you're committing to wearing a traditional sherwani outfit (long-sleeved button down coat with pants) or you'd rather stick with a suit, look for an outfit that's formal and comfortable!
Please avoid ivory/white outfits.
You are never overdressed at an Indian wedding, so don’t be afraid to go all out with your ensembles, jewelry, and makeup! Most guests show up in colourful or pastel outfits, but choose a palette that resonates with you. You may opt for a western gown or a lehenga or a saree. A lehenga is a two-piece outfit that includes a top (usually cropped) with a full, high-waisted skirt and a shawl. A saree is a long piece of fabric, that's used to wrap around the body accompanied by a blouse (crop top).
Please avoid gold outfits.
