"He was a boy, and she was a girl. Could I make it any more obvious? He was a punk, she did ballet, What more can I say? He wanted her, she'd never tell, secretly she wanted him as well..." so they decided to take a risk and start dating during everyone's favourite year, 2020.

They met in September 2019 at the University of Western Ontario. Christian was a 3rd year Music SOPH (orientation leader) who went by the code name Brighton and made himself look incredibly distinct with purple and pink hair, knee high socks, pink scrub pants, and bright coloured shirts, as well as the same amount of energy as Twitchy the squirrel from the movie Hoodwinked after having a cup of coffee. Brooklyn was entering her 1st year at Western for Music and Christian was a part of the SOPH group who was assigned to assist Brooklyn, amongst other first year music students get acquainted to life at Western and in the faculty.

For the majority of that year they interacted only at school, with the majority being friendly hellos, and waves while going about their days, as well as at orchestra which was the only class they shared. Around March of 2020 they began to talk more outside of school, and, over time realized they both had begun to develop feelings towards one another. At the start of April, they confessed to one another that they liked each other, and agreed to meet up to test out a date via a walk around a pond near Brooklyn's house. The first date went smoothly, and they continued to go on a few more dates of similar nature before taking the official status of a couple on May 12th, 2020.

Over the next few years their relationship grew as they were able to spend more time together and develop deeper feelings for one another. During this time Christian graduated from University with a Bachelor of Music Honours Music Education degree in 2021. On June 28th, 2022, their relationship took the next step.

Through incredibly clever and most certainly not suspicious suggestion Christian convinced Brooklyn to go for a walk out at Komoka Provincial Park in the early afternoon of June 28th. After a short walk, and a few stops to secretly scope out possible areas to ask the question Christian decided on a somewhat secluded, but still open offshoot of the main trail to trick Brooklyn into taking a few photos together. However, through the ruse of taking photos Christian actually began to record a video and pulled Brooklyn in close, went back to his phone and checked the photos, before saying to take one more, where after a few seconds got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

For the last few years following their engagement, Christian and Brooklyn have both taken large steps in their schooling and careers. Brooklyn graduated her Undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree in 2023. Both also enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Western Ontario, Christian a part of the class of 2024, and Brooklyn the class of 2025.
