Christian and Danielle met in West Yellowstone, Montana the Summer of 2021 while working at the same company. One day in June, Christian invited himself on the fishing trip Danielle had planned with a mutual friend. Christian claimed he "didn't know how to fly-fish", but shortly after arriving on the river, Danielle knew she wasn't the pro! Christian ended up giving Danielle tips and helped her catch a nice brown trout (pictured) on the Firehole River in Yellowstone National Park! This day and that fish was talked about by Christian for weeks! That day, Christian went home and could not stop talking about Danielle to his friends.

After about a month of hanging out with friends in groups, Christian asked Danielle on their first date to Cliff Lake where the two paddle boarded. Christian came prepared with a charcuterie board and Danielle's favorite drink. He did not realize until they were out on the water that he left the crackers for the charcuterie board at home. The two enjoyed a beautiful evening on the lake while getting to know each other and talking about everything under the sun! Afterwards, they met up with friends at a local bar (pictured) where they were pestered with typical post-first-date questions. Christian adored Danielle after their first date and felt a unique attraction and connection to her. Danielle was not as certain as this potential new relationship was unexpected!

After a week away on a work trip in Jackson Hole, Danielle came home to a surprise note at her house with a vase of yellow flowers. The note prompted her to go over to Christian's house where he was preparing her favorite meal (chicken shawarma) for dinner. After dinner, Christian drove the two to a hidden spot overlooking the Madison River (pictured) to watch the sunset. It was there that Christian asked Danielle to be his girlfriend- with no hesitation, she said yes!

Over the next 2 years, Christian and Danielle spent their time together exploring God's creation and falling in love! The first 6-months of their dating relationship was spent long-distance, but they made the most of it through short trips to visit one another while working in the desert of Utah/Arizona. Christian even surprised Danielle by signing up and training for the half-marathon she was running in Moab, Utah (pictured)! Throughout the winter months, Christian took a trip to Iowa to visit Danielle and meet her family for the first time. Likewise, Danielle flew to Georgia to visit Christian and his family for the first time! They spent another two summers together in West Yellowstone working hard and playing harder! Danielle and Christian loved spending their summertime hiking difficult trails, fishing for trout, golfing, and playing a competitive game of pickleball!

Christian and Danielle planned their first backpacking trip together to Glacier/Waterton National Park in northern Montana and Canada Labor Day weekend. They hiked 30-miles through beautiful backcountry and saw some of the most breathtaking views! After their strenuous 16-mile day hiking up to Boulder Pass, the two made their way back to their campsite at Lake Frances. After reaching the lake, Danielle wanted to set up her phone to take their normal self-timer pictures. Christian could not have chosen a better place or timing as he got down on one knee and asked Danielle to marry him! With great enthusiasm and tears, she said yes!!

The two are so grateful for the family and friends who have come alongside them throughout their journey together. They could not be more excited to marry each other and celebrate with their favorite people!
