Where should we fly into?
We recommend flying into Liberia Airport (Daniel Oduber International) in Guanacanaste. It is only an hour away from Tamarindo. Do NOT fly into San Jose, as that would require a much longer drive.
Flights are now available for booking, we recommend tracking flight deals. Tip: For those flying from California, direct flights are available on Alaska Airlines from LAX that we recommend.
How can I get from Liberia Airport to Tamarindo?
There are several transportation options from the airport. The first is a taxi, please be aware to take a taxi from the official taxi stand and not travel with anyone who may approach you. Secondly, (and recommended by our wedding planner) is to book a shuttle bus ahead of time. These tend to be larger & nicer than the taxis available. We have included the link below to Tamarindo Shuttle Company. The third is to book a rental car and drive yourself. Details also provided below.

There are several hotels, private rentals, and Airbnb options in Tamarindo and Playa Langosta. We have selected three hotels within walking distance of our venue, where we will be staying. The venue is in Playa Langosta and a ten minute drive to Tamarindo proper. Guests are welcome to stay in either area and are encouraged to choose whatever housing option works best for them!

That is up to you! In our experience you can easily get a taxi from the airport and should be able to around Tamarindo, as needed. However, it might be helpful if you want to explore around the region and do not want to rely on taxi availability.
Economy Rental Car
Please note that you can pick up a car from Liberia International Airport. If you decide to taxi/Uber to Tamarindo and later decide you want a rental car for nearby adventures, there is a pickup location in Tamarindo. Be aware that if you don't have a car pre-reserved there may not be availability.
