Like many modern romances, ours began in the midst of the pandemic. We met on Hinge, where John stumbled upon Christine's profile and was immediately drawn in by her smile and the intriguing mention of a book she was writing about her family's maple sugaring tradition. A quick message turned into an easy, fun conversation, with topics ranging from podcasts to puns—John’s specialty, which Christine found cute thankfully.
Our first date was a snowy walk around St. Anthony Main followed by drinks at Aster Cafe. Despite the excited nerves, our connection was instant, and we talked effortlessly and laughed together as if we had known each other for years over a Castle Danger Cream Ale and a Fair State Roselle. John still has the receipt!
Our journey together has been filled with shared passions and adventures. We love cooking together, exploring new places, and returning home with even deeper connections. Our dog son, Teddy, is our loyal companion on walks around the neighborhood, and we cherish cozy nights in the backyard by the fire or on the couch with a good show, a bottle of wine, and Teddy asleep by our side.
The proposal was magical, set in Kansas City—a city dear to Christine that John grew to love as well. In a 1920's ballroom at our favorite hotel, John got down on one knee before a special dinner at our favorite restaurant, Lidia's. The weekend was a celebration of our love, captured beautifully in the photos taken at the City Market, which now grace our invitations and this website.
Christine and John look forward to building a life together and we're so excited to celebrate it with your love and support in April!
