Our Story

Our Story

Picture of Our Story

If Chris were to sum up how we met, he claim it was through Facebook Marketplace, but lets be real—it was actually Facebook Dating!
Our first date was on July 25, 2023, in Everett, WA, where I was living as a travel nurse. Chris rolled up in his beefy white Jetta, and there he was: a flip-flop-wearing, khaki-short-loving, blonde-haired, red-mustached man! I won’t lie—he totally rocks that look!
We decided to meet for drinks at “The Independent Beer Bar,” and he insisted my dog Addison join the fun too! She had a blast! We chatted for a while and enjoyed each others company so much that we decided to grab dinner at Kai Sushi. Dinner was delicious, and boy, did we demolish some sushi rolls! Afterward, we took Addison for a walk down by Pigeon Creek Beach and watched the sunset. We chatted some more and even had a photo shoot with Miss Addison doing her best Baywatch reenactment! It was the perfect first date, and neither of us wanted it to end.
After a week or two of talking and texting, I ventured down to Custer, Washington, where Chris lived. He gave me the 10-cent tour of his hometown and showed me some pretty spots. Little did we know, this would be the beginning of us spending every possible day off together, adventuring and getting to know each other more and more. It didn’t take long for us to fall for each other and start planning a future together.

Our Engagement

Picture of Our Engagement

Chris and I had traveled to Tennessee for what my family calls “Thankmas.” We find the time that works best for us all and celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas in one go together. Little did I know, this trip home would include more than just turkey and tinsel—I was about to get engaged!
How they kept it a secret from me was a real head-scratcher. For anyone who knows me, dressing up isn’t really my thing, and I will always choose comfort! Well, my mom wanted family pictures, and that required looking nice, so that’s how I ended up in a dress! On this day, November 9th, 2024, we all headed to Burgess Falls for pictures, and boy, were we the best-looking group out there. We got to where the falls were, and it wasn’t long before I was looking for Chris. There he was, on one knee with a RING, asking me, “Will you marry me?” Of course, I said YES!
It was quite the surprise and worth dressing up for. Chris knew how much I wanted my family to be part of this moment, and he made it so special. I truly won the lottery with this man, and as our wedding day approaches, I can’t help but be thankful to have such a caring and loving man in my life!
