What is the dress code?
Our wedding will take place at a charming historic plantation by the ocean. We kindly request all guests to dress in tropical/formal attire. Gentlemen, please avoid wearing shorts. For outfit inspiration, you can check out this link: https://pin.it/4S85kXNHY (Copy & paste link).
Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card? What date should I RSVP by?
Please complete the RSVP online before the date indicated on your invitation. If we do not receive your RSVP by the specified date, we will assume you are unable to attend, but we encourage you to respond as soon as you can to help us finalize the guest count.
Is parking available near your wedding venue?
Yes, the venue has a free parking lot right in front of the property.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. To get a better idea of what it will look like, here is the website for our venue! https://www.olowaluplantationhouse.com/ (Copy & paste link).
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
We are excited to celebrate our wedding with all the special people in our lives. As a result, we have decided to keep our wedding small and intimate. Your invitation will indicate whether you are able to bring a guest.
Are children allowed?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow children at our wedding because of the limited number of guests we can host. This also gives you a chance to have that much needed child-free vacation!
What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
Guests should arrive at 3pm as the ceremony will start promptly at 3:30pm.
What type of food will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?
We'll be serving a variety of passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet-style dinner, and dessert.
Will there be an open bar?
Absolutely, there will be. We wouldn't make you all travel half way across the country without some perks to enjoy :)
I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?
When you RSVP, you will be asked about any dietary restrictions or allergies you may have.
Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?
Since this is a destination wedding, many family and friends have expressed interest in turning the trip into a vacation. As a result, we haven't reserved a block of rooms at a specific hotel. The island offers a wide variety of hotels and Airbnbs to suit different budgets. On our website, there's a Travel tab that highlights the places we've enjoyed during our previous visits.
Chris and I would love to keep track of where everyone is staying and how long they'll be there, so please inform us once you've made your travel arrangements. If you're uncertain about accommodations and want to know where others are staying, feel free to reach out!
What airport do I fly into?
OGG - Kahului Airport
What is the weather like in the area?
In October, the island shifts from hot summer weather to a milder climate. Daytime temperatures average between 79°F – 82°F, with evenings cooling down to 65°F – 68°F. Humidity remains around 70%, so be sure to pack your hair products accordingly!
Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?
Yes, we will be hosting a Welcome Reception and Farewell Brunch on separate dates. Once those venues are confirmed, the wedding website will be updated accordingly. More details to come!
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
The ceremony will be unplugged, but we'll take a moment at the beginning of the ceremony for anyone who wants to snap a photo of us at the top of the aisle.
Can I post wedding photos on social media?
Of course!
I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?
You are welcome to message Chris and I with any questions, however, on the wedding day, please direct any questions to our Best Man (Jason) and Matrons of Honor, (Ashley & Emily) so that we can fully enjoy this special day.
We will also have a wedding guest group chat on the Signal app for anyone who would like to join. Please reach out to Chris on how to join.
