Our Wedding

Levi and Ciara met in fall 2019. He needed a date to Ring Figure, and she was the lucky girl. Quickly, the couple fell into step with each other—driving across the mountain on Route 60, visiting each other as much as they could. In spring 2020, they were at Maymont when they both got the email from Sweet Briar and VMI that they wouldn’t be returning. The two went on a road trip to grab what they’d need to make it the month or so they originally thought it would be. Levi went back to upstate New York, and Ciara stayed in Richmond. Through many late-night FaceTimes and virtual study dates, the couple made it through until they were both back at school that fall. Four years and three degrees later between the two, they made it back to the same park where everything changed. On New Year’s Eve, Levi got down on one knee—making Maymont the start of another new chapter in their story.

Don't mind the photo, she provided it as one of a few options, what else was Ciara supposed to pick. Kelly is the older sister that Ciara never had. They didn't let the distance keep them from talking at least once a week. Talking about books, fandoms, life, or simply doing mundane chores while the other was on the phone for hours on end. Kelly was one of the first few people Ciara told when her and Levi first started talking. Kelly helped pick out almost every dress or outfit for anything important. Kelly even helped orchestrate the proposal to get Ciara out of the house without it being too obvious.

Nash is Levi's younger brother. To quote Levi "he's the best, so he's the best man." Levi and Nash like to spend their time snowboarding. And when they aren't physically together they play video games.

Elizabeth and Ciara were in the same mentor group when Ciara mentioned she would need a ride to church, but was worried because she was Catholic. Elizabeth immediately popped up saying so was she and would love a buddy to go with. And so their journey of finding the perfect parish began, which ended up being in Charlottesville, so they would make a day and get Mexican for lunch. Ciara ended up being her sponsor when Elizabeth joined the Catholic church.

Some may be surprised that it isn't Jesse walking down the isle to Levi, but alas the two will stand side by side. Jesse was one of Levi's first roommates at VMI and they've been inseparable ever since. Moving to Williamsburg and Lynchburg together. The two enjoying getting lost in the woods and finding themselves at the local pub.

Ciara and Lauren met at daycare as children. The two remained friends throughout high school. They share a love of the beach and One Direction. Lauren went on many a family vacation with Ciara, and the two even went to a One Direction concert together.

Or Enrique as Ciara calls him...Erik was Levi's last minute senior prom 'date'. They've been friends for years and even got to spend a summer working at the lumberyard together. They spent a lot of time doing stupid stuff at track practice and in the woods.

Catherine and Ciara have been the bestest of friends since the first grade. Weekends growing up were spent begging their moms to have sleep overs at each others houses, playing all of the Wii games and dressing up their American Girl dolls.

Ciara and Makayla met because Makayla moved down the street in the eighth grade and ran up to Ciara during a class change to ask what their bus number was. This led to many a bus ride exchanging books and reading side by side on their way home.

Patrick is Levi's oldest friend. They met when they were both trying to learn drums (neither did) and they've been buds ever since. They spent many late nights playing video games and they never fail to meet up when Levi is in town (usually for chicken nuggets).

Shayna is the younger sister that Ciara never had. Ciara met the Greenstein family through her time at Sweet Briar. Shayna's father, Kerry, is the Dean of Students at Sweet Briar which Ciara worked closely with in her roles in Student Government. Kerry slowly became a second father to Ciara and so his family became a second family as well. Ciara and Levi couldn't imagine their wedding day without them being a part of it. 

Shayna Greenstein

Ap(he goes by Lucas now but both Levi and Ciara refuse to call him that) was Levi's roommate three years at VMI. He witnessed many calls between the couple. He shared many stories about Levi after he had passed out at his computer while on the phone with Ciara, much to Levi's dismay. He's a submarine officer with many a run in with a bathtub.

Tux vs. Suit: What's the Difference?

As adults we don't have many opportunities to get dressed up, so with that in mind we would like our guests to be in formal attire. Girls/women are encouraged to wear long(er) dresses and men should wear a suit. The bridesmaids will be in desert rose colored dresses, and the groomsmen will be in dark brown suits.
