The year was 2014. Ciara was starting her senior year at Iowa State and Andrew was beginning graduate school. One Saturday night in November they were both out avoiding studying and happened to run into one another. Both having been known to cut a rug, it makes perfect sense that their paths would cross on a country bar dance floor. They have been boot scootin' together ever since.

Spending their first 3 years together in Ames, Andrew finished up graduate school while Ciara was preparing to start her graduate program. After many prerequisites and applications, Ciara was accepted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Andrew quickly began looking for a place in Omaha to start his career and they both moved to Nebraska shortly after Iowa State's graduation ceremony. Now school's out for both of them and they continue to work and play in the Omaha area.

Andrew had been planning his proposal for months: the place, the timing, the speech. And then a global pandemic happened. A few adjustments to the plan led Andrew and Ciara to their favorite place, Iowa State University, where he asked, and she said yes!
