Q + A

What time should I arrive?

We will be serving pre-ceremony drinks beginning at 4:30pm, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Please arrive no later than 4:45pm to ensure you have plenty of time to get from the parking lot to the venue and find your seat! Please note, if you need a golf cart escort to the venue, you'll need to arrive before 4:50pm. If you arrive late, we won't be mad as long as you slip in the back quietly!

What should I wear?

Simply put, the dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. But if you want to really match the vibe, think English countryside meets a day at Steeplechase! Big hats optional but certainly welcome. Ladies, we recommend opting for block heels rather than slim heels for greater ease navigating the lawn of the venue.

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

We're keeping it easy with everything happening at The Garden at Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, located just east of Nashville. Feel free to catch an Uber and kick off your shoes when you get here, because you won't need to go anywhere for the rest of the night!

Where is The Garden located on The Hermitage Property?

The garden is just behind the main house on the property. When you park, walk through the covered entrance and past the Ticket Booth and Visitor Center. Follow along the pathway and look for the large brick estate. Note: The Garden is about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot of the venue. If you need assistance, please arrive early for golf cart transport to the ceremony location.

Will the ceremony and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Weather allowing, all wedding events will take place outdoors, so please plan accordingly! In the event of rain, we will move to an indoor location after the ceremony.

Will there be a seated dinner?

We're so glad you asked! No; to make as much time for dancing, games, and great conversations with our loved ones as possible, we've decided to forego a seated dinner and will be instead serving heavy hors d'oeuvres throughout the majority of the evening. Don't worry, you can be sure we'll have plenty for you to get full on, plus a stocked bar and some exciting treats at the end of the night.

What happens after the ceremony?

The bride and groom (plus family, friends, and the wedding party when called) will slip away to take some quick photos, and you can grab yourself a drink and a snack, dive right into chatting and games, and even hop on the dance floor if you're feeling wild! Don't worry about missing anything; the DJ will make sure you know when it's time to settle down for the grand entrance of the newlyweds.

Are there other events throughout the weekend?

You think we'd invite all our favorite people to Music City and not take advantage of the whole weekend? For non-travelers and those getting in early, you're invited to join us for a casual welcome gathering at East Nashville Beer Works (320 E Trinity Ln, Nashville, TN) from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Food and beverages are on your own for this event.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes! There is plenty of free parking at The Hermitage. The venue is easily accessed by highway, so if Uber is more your thing, you won't have any trouble getting a ride.

Are kids welcome?

While we adore your kiddos, we're only able to accommodate the children named on their family's invitation. If you're wondering whether your kiddo made the cut, just give us a shout. If the answer's no, it's nothing personal! We hope you'll be able to grab a babysitter and enjoy a night off.

Can I bring a hot date?

Weddings are expensive, y'all. Not to mention the most intimate event of our lives! Our wedding is strictly RSVP only, and we will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please reach out to us prior to August 31, 2024 and we'll let you know if any arrangements can be made.

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Our wedding party is chock-full of dietary restrictions, so you'd best believe we'll have some light options everyone can enjoy. However, if you have strict dietary needs, we do recommend eating more substantially before you arrive.

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
